One final dumb question from me

Post by Alien_Newborn »

I had just saved my file because I was about to experiment with something (can't remember what) that might have messed up my house's decoration and, sure enough, my test failed. I went to load my previous save, but then the game just crashes to desktop. It has happened before (usually at more convenient times), so I turned the game back on and tryed to load again, but it just ctd's again. Now I've tryed about 10 times and I'm getting confused and annoyed.

Any Ideas what might be causing this?

Try this: Load your current game, then once you're in the game, load the save you really want to start from. Then, if that works, get into a new area, even if it's just a nearby buildilng, and save it to a new filename. Reload that file, and you should be home free.

Ummm, but it's the current game which is the one that ctd's all tha time. I tryed loading my last autosave(which was quite a while ago) and THAT worked, but then I tryed loading the more recent file and it just crashes again (in the exact same place on the load bar each time)

This is what you wrote: "I went to load my previous save, but then the game just crashes to desktop." I thought this was the one you wanted to reload--no?

*Sigh* allow me to explain in more detail:
I saved over my main file before trying a little decorative experiment (which failed  ) but when I tryed to reload the same file after messing things up, my game ctd'd and now it does that every time that I try to load my main file. For some reason my autosave still works, but my main doesn't.
Also, right before it crashes, it says "local count for script 'vmet_globalscript' differs from saved local count. Variables will be reinitialized", If that has anything to do with it

Okay. Can you reload an earlier saved game, then load your current after that, while Morrowind is still running?
