Howdy all,
I have two things to ask.
I was just taking a look at the review for KOTOR 1 at GameSpy (no idea why), and I noticed a few things in the Screenshots area.
Click here to view the screenshots. Anyone recognize the first 2 screenshots? Are they from the game? If so, tell me how to get there, because it looks as if I've missed out on a whole lot...
Also,
Does anyone else think KOTOR 1 would make a good movie? I reckon it would, from what I hear about KOTOR 2, that wouldn't. I'm buying KOTOR on the weekend, so I can decide that for myself

If you don't succeed, redefine success!
Yeah they are early scenes of KotOR II.
To answer your other question, no I don't. At all. For one the people most interested in it already know the story, or it word will get round. There won't be any surprises. And also, you would need to do a LOT of work because the story is based around a game. Having the lead character tramping round 4 planets wouldn't make a great film. So you'd need to do an awful lot of tweaking to get it right, and like I say the story is largely spoiled anyway.
With the second game, it isn't that it wouldn't make a good film - it would make a much better film if you ask me, less linear with its quests - its just that parts of the story were left out and in-complete. So in that case you would just need to finish it off.

*cough*phantom menace*cough*
*cough*attack of the clones*cough*
I actually liked both of the recent episodes better than most people, but they do seem a little like "okay Obi-Wan, we just beat the Tattoine stage but obtaining the hyperdrive part we needed, so let's move on to the Coruscant stage next." It definitely had a story flow surprisingly similar to KOTOR.
So I guess, if you liked eps. 1 and 2, maybe KOTOR would make a good movie, and if you didn't, then it probably wouldn't.

Yeah but they weren't all exactly the same
The recent episodes remind me more of KotOR II than one, at least your experiences on each planet were more varied. All the planets in KotOR I were more or less exactly the same experience. Slightly different style required perhaps, but essentially the same, which is what I meant in my other post.
I also quite enjoyed most parts of Episodes I and II, I think they are getting a lot of flak for little reason. People get all nostaligic and say they're not as good, but at the end of the day if you brought out the first films now everyone would say they weren't that great.

I haven't played KoToR II, but I think that KoToR I would make a great movie, especially if they filmed two endings and didn't say definatively which one was the "true" ending.
Alas, the secret is out now... and if the whole movie rides on the revelation in the middle of the movie, I agree that too many people have played the game at this point...
