help with third battle with mellisan
help with third battle with mellisan
yea, i usually summon monsters before i cut the supply line, just so they start where i start again. It would be nice if got all rested up, by i took precautions by knowing that i can't just waste all my resources.
nevertheless, as soon as she starts up again, 4 slayers come in from the sides. usually, my summonstake care of that.
then she teleports, to a place behind that energy thingy, making her real hard to see, and what protections she's got. I usually breach her ass, but that doesn't always help. and she keeps casting demons and slayers at an INSANE rate, i have no friggin' clue how i can put up with them and her at the same time.
any tips?
btw, tips on the fourth battle will be appreciated.

ignore the summoned demons...just focus on melissan. have everyone greater whirlwind and your mage have a contigency ready with pierce magics. if the demons are a bit too much, summon a couple mordenkain's swords to help you out, or my favorite, summon a horde of bunnies with limited wish. my first time through with her, i wasted so many spells on the first battle just tryign to keep the demons away that it was VERY difficult to beat her by the end. the second time i played, i was all set, and only on the last battle against her did she even have enough time to teleport to the rear. she died before she could go away.
I would be a serial killer if i didn't have such a strong distaste for manual labor

Look prateek, I don't know how many times people will have to say this, DON'T SPOIL THE GAME FOR EVERYONE. DO NOT place crucial plot twists into subjects, DO place a spoiler warning in the subject line if you are going to give away the plot. I went straight from saradush to the add-in tower and had no idea that mellisan was a bad guy until I read your subject, may you burn in hell (or rule it, whatever).

When logic and proportion,
Have fallen sloppy dead,
And the White Knight is talking backwards,
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the doormouse said.

I agree the 3rd battle is much harder than the 4th
This is how I did the 3rd: I summoned 3-4 Morderkeinen's swords to take care of the Shadow Slayers. Lower resistance and breach on Melissan, and hit her with the fighters. She teleported after just one round, so I ran after after her, ignoring the summoned monsters, and continued to cast Lower restistance and hit her. (I just kept an eye on the Shadows so they wouldn't come from behind and drain party members without Negative Plane Prot.) The fighters used Whirlwinds and Hardiness.
Abi-Dalzim's horrid wilting, Implosion and melee from 3 fighters, and she was finished!
Hope this helps, good luck

Melissan is immune to spells below level 3 i think (at least she's immune to magic missile and chrom orb), immune to most elemental damage (fire, acid etc)
and i think she has 60% magic R (could be wrong)

Thanks. I *knew* there was something wrong with the magic missiles, since I think they gave me the "spell ineffective" message instead of "magic resistance" message (Melissan's MR should've been at 10% tops after 3 lower resistances, anyway). I'll have to start dropping the heavy stuff on her when I get back to the fight tonight...
