Bounty hunt problem

Post by Hato1979 »

I had a problem : i couldn't find the third werewolf-boy. That's fixed thanks to browsing this forum a bit - quest completed.

Another problem might be a bit more complicated. It's about the bounty-hunt quest. I'm absolutely sure that I killed all of the escaped prisoners. And I'm also sure that I brought all the ears back to Kendrack. First 3 of them, and afterwards Zors ear, the minotaur who was in the green griffon. Now the problem is that Kendrack doesn't seem to realize. He doesn't tell me about his problem with his daughter, doesn't give me the key of the goldmine... When I talk to him I can't ask any information about the bounties, excapt Yesgar himself. This should mean that I brought back all the 4 ears, no? The strange thing is that my journal states that I brought back 3 of the ears... :(
I went back to the four places where I fought the bounties, they weren't there (obviously, I killed them). There were no ears lying around. What can I do??

Of course it's not a core quest, but I almost finished it, it would be nice to finish it off.

Thanks in advance!

If you have a saved game from before you turned in Zor's ear, check to see how many ears you got credit for. If it was three, then try turning in the ear again and see if it updates. If not, you definitely have a bug.

If you only had credit for two ears, then one of the other fugitives didn't register. You can apply the same process of investigation if you have the appropriate saved games. Wyvern would be my prime suspect in this case because I think it is possible to let him go without getting the ear.

Unfortunately, if you don't have the saved games it is pretty much impossible to tell what went wrong.

Well, I loaded a save game where I had the ear of Wyvern, Delilah and Stirge. They're all in my backpack. My journal states that I have 'secured two ears out of five', although I didn't turn in a single one. I went to Kendrack, and gave him the ears. With NONE of them anything happens, my journal doesn't update. I went to kill Zor, and when I gave his ear, my journal updated, stating that I have now 'secured three ears of the five'. Strange, strange.

I suppose you're right, the problem probably lies with the one who offers his ear instead of his live. I believe it's not Wyvern, but Stirge, the one in the hollow tree. I think I indeed let him walk, not sure.

Oh well, I'll just have to go on then. Pity.

Thanks for the help anyway!!

I've got a similar problem. When I talked to Zor & listened to his story, I opted to let him live as it was unfair to kill him, and I'm running a good aligned character. Because of that however, the quest just dead ends, shouldn't there be a dialouge option where I explain to the guild master that I let him go or something? Or is this quest pretty much an evil only angle, so with out killing (or at least maiming) them all you cannot rescue the girl, which is an act of good.
And that seems oddly contradictory
