Spoiler request: Sarevok and his alignment

Post by makoslade »

Hello. I keep hearing that Sarevok's alignment can change. I played the game through and I was never presented the opportunity to do do. What triggers this change? How do I get Sarevok to change his alignment? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Sorry don't know but furthering from Sarevok things, are there any other characters you can raise besides Sarevok? Raising Sarevok sounds a little..overkill-ish.!?

The dialogues with Sarevok are random, so you're not guarenteed to to recieve all, or any, of them during the course of the game. If it's important to you, you can force NPC interaction by activating cheat keys with the baldur.ini file. Press Ctrl+I, and you'll initiate a random dialogue. There are about four or five conversations with Sarevok, three of which should involve your main character. Play the dialogues out correctly, and Sarevok's alignment will change to chaotic good.

What do you mean by raising? If you mean "Return to Life", then yes, you can supposedly get any NPC you want in your abyssal stronghold, even those who have died and/or been disintegrated in your service.

Yeah, sorry, ToB hasn't come to Japan yet so I don't quite know the game well enough. But Return to Life is probably what I meant. Cheers!

I prefer Sarevok as Chaotic Evil. He can use the 'Evil Aligned' weapons. One of my favorites Two Handed swords is the Soul Reaver +4. Only Sarevok can use it. It may be 'only' (!) a 4+ sword, but gives a 2 + cumulative (2,4,8,16) penalty to opponents THACO every time it hits. Very cool!

He doesn't leave your party when you have a 20 reputation so who really cares!? I kinda like having a Super Villian on my side. :D ;)

So that would be -14(!) THAC0 after only 3 hits? Are you sure it's not 2, 4, 6, 8..?

O' course it be like this. Cumulative be meanin' the latest effect be stackin' with the previous one.

Well, actually it's 2, 2, 2, 2.... But the target's THACO will 2, 4, 6, 8... lower.

ReignsOfPower got it confused with ol' Magic: The Gathering's Cumulative Upkeep, methinks.

Hey! How you know I played Magic? The name gave me away? LOL :D

Yes it does go 2,4,6,8

However, in mathematics cumulative does go 2,4,8,16.....this is the pattern evident in this particular section of mathematics (probability topic) soo yeah...thats what I thought it would do....oh...and don't call me a square...I just happen to like Maths ok! It's no SIN!!!! hehe :D ;)

Still....It's a really good weapon....even with Keldorn at same level and strength etc etc...got his butt kicked with the carsomyr (which has +12 to hit Chaotic evil opponents)

*bang* Carsomyr hit got a whopping 50. *bang*
Sol Reaver hits for a measly 20. *woosh* carsomyr misses. *bang* Sol Reaver hits for another 30. *bang* Caromyr hits. *woosh* Sol Reaver misses. *woosh* Carsomyr misses *bang**bang**bang**bang**bang**bang**bang**bang* **DEAD** good bye carsomyr. ;) ;) :D You gotta love it!

Lets not forget....Sarevok is one madass fighter. Why you ask?
1. Blardy high stats (some of which a PC of mine once had)

2. Deathbringer Assult. (ok so you loose the items...so what?!) There is a thing called Shadow keeper....which, when this happens...you simply edit the items onto your guy (thats if ofcourse you know what he has got! :) )I dont think is called cheating at all. :D

It doesn't matter if you make him swear an oath or not. The thing that matters is your responses to him when he start talking to you - this is for party interaction, not when you first meet him. I believe there are 3 or 4 dialogues between him the your character - might be random, might be event triggered, not sure. He change alignment on the second last interaction, this depends on your responses for the ones before that.
