Help needed - game "hangs up" all the time...

Post by Astafas »

Ever since I started playing this game, my game "hangs up" within, say maximum, 15 minutes. The picture and music freezes, and there is nothing I can do but cut the power. ESC, CTR+ALR+DEL, ALT+F4 or any other combo - nothing works!

I play with recommended settings, and use updated drivers. My specs are the following:

Windows XP SP2
Athlon XP 2500+ (1822 MHz)
512 MB RAM
Saffire Radeon Atlantis 9600 256 MB
Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS
DirectX 9.0c

I just don't get it, could you please help?

Its probally one of the many bugs in this game. I suggest you get the patch and if you have that well then you might have to uninstall it.
Add l Skinflute l (Lower case L's) if you think you can beat me 1v1 snipers in Halo 2.

Thanks for your reply. A bug, you think? In that case, will it be solved by installing the same files ones more? I already have the latest patch...

Go to the Lucas Arts homepage and go to support. From there, you can email technical support about your problem. Be sure to include the report from dxdiag so that they can best troubleshoot your problem. Every time I've had a techinical issue, they have resolved it within 3 days.

Really? I haven't even considered that option, since the advices you get normally are so lousy anyway. "Try reinstall Windows" and such... But I'll send them an email right away, thanks!

Turn down your graphics. That should help some. :)

It was the BIOS! I finally updated it, and now I haven't experienced a crash in several hours...

Ahh, the BIOS. Always a nightmare. What was wrong with it? Normally if there was a problem lots of stuff wouldn't work (at least in my experience :) ).
