Curious about Relics

Post by SnowTiger »

I am curious about the Relics.
In the beginning of the quest for relics, the wizard (sorry, I am pitiful with names) in Bolen Fields area/Talendor said that when each relic is found, it is to be brought back to him and placed in the pentagram.
My understanding (as well as a friend of mine) is that you find a relic and return with it to place it in the pentagram before searching for the next relic.

On the other hand, I have just hung on to each relic, believing that having the extra powers is likely a good thing.
My friend returned with his relics and was only able to retain some of its power when he left without it.

Here is my question(s).

What are the opinions of other players ?
Have you returned with each relic to place in pentagram/pentagon ?
Are you hanging on to all of them (or any of them in particular) until the end before taking them to the pentigram ?
Does it make any difference ?

I value your opinions.
I am ready to start my search for my 4th relic (I think).

Thanks again

I could be wrong here, but I think the relics are just regular pieces of equipment, and having them in your possession doesn't do anything for you unless you're wearing them. Meanwhile, when you turn them in, it looks like you get +3 to all of your attributes, plus some experience.

I haven't cared about any of the relics I've picked up so far, so I've just been turning them in.

I can confirm that for each relic placed in the Chamber, you get +3 on all Attributesd plus 100.000 XP

When I turned them in, I only noticed a bonus of about 30,000 adv points.

Anyhow, the relics I wish I could've kept throughout the game was the Ring of Protection and the Shield of Retribution. That shield is HUGE! The ring goes without saying, really.

obviously, the horn which is the first relic you retrieve first but the rest of them can be obtained in almost any order. i would recommend that you get the shield of retribution as soon as possible because of its two very nice features: 1) it doesn't wear out 2) it reflects spells back at the caster
anyway, you can keep all the relics if you'd like until you get them all but the last one (the ring of protection).

spoiler: the shield can be found in the temple of draedoth which is located in the vale of ruin.

reason to keep relics as long as possible

I woud keep relics as long as possible in your posesion even you dont use them. The thing is that you can save lot of experance points that way.

For example: I had strenght 111 at the time I desided to go after fift relic. To advance my strenght I hat to spend 500K of experiance points (somthing like that I'm not surem but defenetly not less 300k). After putting all the relics I hade now 120 strenght. So I saved 500K*9=4500K. Not including other stats.

So put in all you got in your atributes before you place the relics.
Sorry for my bad Eanglish :(
