Modding question

Post by -Malkavian- »

I've been messing around with Bloodlines for awhile, and now I'd like to make some kind of music video with it. I've seen a few of those, and people somehow manage to get the health/blood bar off the screen. I can't find a way to do that.

Perhaps somebody could tell me how to do this? Thanks. :)

Camera View

Since you are trying to make a movie from the game, I was wondering if you were able to change the camera view to allow you to see the front of our character in 3rd person? Currently I've only found 2 views, 1st person & 3rd person (behind view only). I was thinking of making a video also, or at the very last some cool screen shots like the ones I've seen here:

I used to have some kind of tool that could change the view, but it came with new clans (which weren't new at all, just a new name) and other stuff I didn't like to have... uhh... well, I'll tell you when I find it back.

This may be a stupid question but how do you capture footage from the game so you can edit it?

I have also seen many fanmade music videos and want to give it a try myself but i don't know how to begin, any special programs you have to download?

I thought it would be better to ask this in a thread thats already kind of on the same topic rather than start a whole new one.

Any help would be very appreciated.

This may be apocryphal, but I heard legends from the ancient times that spoke of a little desktop app that when running, would produce continuous video of the contents of the currently active window, whatever that happened to be. The only rule was that it had to be a game that could be run in Windows mode, and if I'm not mistaken, VTMB has such a mode. You could assign play/pause/stop to your own pet hot-keys so they wouldn't interfere with the game you were playing. I think I originally heard about it when I was playing Max Payne, or maybe it was Jedi Outcast, so it's been around for a couple of years. I'd probably google for 'game video capture' and snoop around until I found it.

Try 'FRAP'. I found it, downloaded it, and recorded a 30 second video from VTMB in about an hour. The demo version has limitations, the registered version is about USD $30. It will work in full-screen mode, too.

Oh, and fair warning: My 'video' wasn't my most distinguished moment in VTMB - I got hamburgered at the beginning of the Blood Hunt. It kind of crunches out your frame rate. Make sure you've got Zoot-Capri horsepower.

Screen shots are a snap. F8. It's built-in. The screen shots show up in:

C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\Vampire\screenshots
