Cloak of Vecna -- Collectors Edition only???

Having only recently (about 60 days ago) purchased SoA (and now ToB) I hadn't even heard of a Collectors Edition. But reportedly, Dierdre who sells the Cloak of Vecna only appears in this Collectors addition. Is there any other way for me to get this Cloak?

OH, I mean can I get it w/o resorting to Shadowkeeper? I'd rather do things the honest way.

Sure you can do it the honest way

the 2 files you need in order to get the 2 special merchants are available right here

just extract the 2 files to overide folder
in the bg2 game folder

Thanks. I actually already downloaded, but did not yet install, bonus merchants. I was wondering if I need to download that big patch too. From what I'm reading, even w/ ToB I'll still run into many a bug w/o the big patch. No high-speed line so, wow, a 1.5hr download.
