I think I know how to skip Ch 1...maybe

Post by Hex92 »

I thought of this last night, so I haven't tried it yet.
I have already played through the game single player and I am about to finish going thru again playing Multi-player. I, of course, have saves from periodic places in the game including just after emerging from Irenicus' dungeon.

So, wouldn't it be possible to import a new PC into the game in the party lead position and start from there? You could create the PC and then, if you wanted, add some XP using Shadowkeeper. Then import him/her and off you go from Waukeens Promenade.

Here's where it gets good....
Using that same line of thought wouldn't it be possible to have your protagonist keep switching so you could, if you wanted, play through several stronghold quests without having to start a new game? It would be nice to get a save game file or character file from someone who has a save from early chapter 2(ie. I have wanted to play a monk). Then put them into the protagonist slot, play thru the stronghold quest, dump the monk for a cleric and do that quest.

Does this make any sense? Or am I raving mad? Image

I think it might can be done....the only thing is I'm raving mad..so my opinion might be biased. Image

Still it would be worth looking in to.

To get multiple strongholds besides the figthers keep, I think you might have to alter a global setting. I was reading about it somewhere and you had to keep setting the stronghold command to zero.

I'm not interested in getting and keeping multiple strongholds for different PCs. What I want to do is just pop a PC into a party, go do the stronghold quest and then boot em out and get another PC to do a different quest. After playing through the game twice, once good and once evil, I have seen all of the main story line. The only real diference now is the strongholds....

@ Hex, I understand what you're saying. I'm not sure if changing the main char. will reset the global stronghold value or not. Of course if you just start from an early save ieach time, it shouldn't matter.
