Sendai's Enclave (spoiler)

Post by Draconis »

Ok, this might seem a bit funny, but I can't find a way to deal with Ogremoch, the prince of Earth in Sendai's Enclave. You have to beat him in order to get to fight Diaytha. I can kill his two servants, but he just seems too strong. My companions fall down after 2 or 3 hits each. Here is my party:

Monk (my character) -lvl. 26
Sarevok -lvl. 25
Valygar -lvl. 21
Cernd -lvl.21
Jan -thief lvl. 19, illusionist lvl. 15

Did any of you ever have problems with this one? I remember when I played ToB last time I was stuck on the very same spot. I did, eventually, kill him, but I don't really remember what tactic I used.

Your party should be powerful enough... I'm assuming you used potions and spells to buff your monk, Sarevok and Valygar. Let Jan cast Lower Magic Resistance on O. and have Cernd cast Creeping Doom. That ought to keep Ogremoch real busy, then let your monk use his Quivering Palm ability. Also, Valygar should do more damage backstabbing.

Also you should drink some potions, especially strength and defensive ones. After lowering his resistance, you can also cast strength on him so that his strength goes down to 18 from the mid 20's.

Perhaps you could try gaining some levels first.
And haste or improved haste works for me with every enemy.

That's evil. :p

Mazzy killed him with one hit using the Staff of Earth that you can buy in Ust'Natha (SoA).

If you don't have that staff get Jan to cast Stoneskin (as often as necessary) and absorb all the damage while your other characters deal damage. Haste them to maximize their effect. You can also use the Rod of Resurrection to heal anyone too close to death.

My level 28 cavilier killed him and his servents before the rest of my party arrived. I suggest changeing jan for keldorn and cernd for korgon that should give you enough fire power to take him down.
