I've read a number of posts on this topic, but still have a problem. When the fourth shadow stone drops, Nauselon appears right away - I have to rush to pick up the stone and place it on the wall. Then I grab the staff.
Now, when I attack Nauselon with the staff (a big ol lightning bolt shoots out) he's supposed to lose his ability to regenerate, right? Well, he doesn't. I don't know if this is a bug or what, but I've reinstalled game/patches/my brain and nothing is working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've got gold.
This just seems to be one of the quirky parts of the game. Some people don't have any problem with Nauselom, and for others he's impossible.
The only thing I can think of is that perhaps the spell effect of the relic doesn't count, and that you actually have to whack him with it.
Or... did you load your game prior to picking up the relic? Sometimes that has a bad effect on the game.
If you have a saved game from before going to Nauselom's room, I'd suggest going back to that and trying again.
