Ivory Bow - how to reload?

Post by Raa »

...in modern age.

I bought some arrows and it won't use them. Back in Medieval, it normally used arrows I was buying. It doesn't like modern arrows or what? :)

No other arrows I can find that could fit it - there are only incendiary and magnesium arrows and i really doubt I should try them with Ivory Bow. So at this point my conclusion is that it is unusable in modern age!

Any ideas?

I never tried the ivory bow in the modern age. Are you sure no modern arrows work with it?

If not, you could probably spawn some ammo into your inventory using cheat codes - addthing [item name] or, possibly, the infinite ammunition cheat code would work - freeammo

Though, like I said, I've not tired either with the ivory bow (or much otherwise). And, of course, you have to have the console enabled.

Well, in the Medieval time, I'd just buy "arrows" and that would do the trick. In the modern age I bought "arrows" and it never got reloaded. Instead of normal arrows the only ones I can buy are "incendiary arrows" and "magnesium tipped arrows" which fit to incendiary bows and "magnesium bow", so there simply isn't any ammo which would get Ivory Bow reloaded.

I would like to enable that bow, it has the advantage over most modern ranged weapons in that it deals Aggravated damage (well I guess magnesium bows/crossbows can do instead, as they deal Fire damage).

Thanks for the tip for the console, i might try that, but most likely I'll just ignore that bow and use normal weapons.

Modern arrows dont work with bow :)
It doesnt come across time shift, without cheats (that I recall ) so just insert medieval arrows as mentioned, since I am guessing thats how you got the Ivory bow :)
Yes its great bow too :)
How ever any ranged weapon is a waste in Redemption, the AI cant handle the mechanics/physics of it, sadly.
I strongly suggest if your inserting getting the exq flamberge and a good shield.
I actually will leave the party behind and just solo the game nowdays its far more stable and there for more fun to me at least :)
Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

A picky bow, isn't it :)

Actually, I seem to play something like going to melee with Christof using good old Dread Broadswoard and Insulated Great Shield. But, I have the coterie behind me with ranged weapons, so they help me by peppering enemies with bullets and arrows (and Disciplines...) as good as they can.

The Ivory Bow DOES come across the big sleep. It's one of only a few items that do: all major magic items and Exquisite items. Christof has to be carrying it on his person. If you have someone else using it, that person needs to drop it and Christof pick it up before he has his little chat with Anezka.

You can't get ammo for it, though, so the only reason to take it is to sell it for cash. Unless you cheat, of course.

It did come across actually, so it really is a shame i can't buy ammo for it anymore, and I don't consider it worth cheating. It is obviously worth for selling only, but it is also a shame since I'm offerred less than a 1000 for that excellent occult weapon...
