How do you do this? I've done it a few times, seemingly by accident, with the sceptre of storms. I've played around with it, but can't get it to do so on a regular basis. I'd like to use the sceptre as a ranged lightning weapon if possible before the MOBs get up close and personal with me.

I believe it builds up a charge like a Celestial spell. If you put it away for a while it will build about 3 or 4 charges. If you use it all the time you just get a single lighting strike now and then. So that's why I think it builds a charge.

Left click by default, or simply "attack".

Some items like that can be involked so you can keep them in inventory and involk them when you want. I don't know about the sceptre of storms but some items like helm of storms and some rings and trinkets can be put in your quick menu and used like a spell. So you can try something like this with the sceptre.
The sceptre of storms ,like lin said, builds up a charge like a spell. If you use it as your main weapon it's going to discharge when ever a charge builds up. Usually when you don't need it to. D

I just checked and you can't involk sceptre of storms or place it in your quick menu. I guess your stuck with the random blast or put it away and pull it out when you need a lightning bolt. If you can find helm of storms (shadow ruins) it can be involked and placed in your quick menu, very handy, it will give you the same 3 charges. D

Can you explain to me what is which color on magic weapons.
I mean, i have :
Dwarven winter axe - Blue - COLD (obious)
Scepter of ice - the same

Then i have a :
Scepter of evil - VIOLET CLOUDS of something ????
Staff of the Grove - Just visible aura pointing from the tip ????

Venom ALL weapons - ?!?!?!?!

Where are all those DREAMCATCHER admins, so we can complain, and ask why they ruined a VERY promising game and released it without even BETA testing it. :eek:

Badmutha... the Venom weapons have a % chance of poisoning what they strike, i thought it was broken for a bit cuz it is not described as "magical weaponry lvl ~". Then i got a venom bow from a chest an was usin it on bats... i shot em, they flew away and died after a minute or 2 an i got the exp message. started messin around with other monsters an seems to poison things quite nicely. The Staff of the Grove seems to have some kind of stun effect when ya hit things with it, tho no graphics to reveal that it is working for me. I jus hit stuff with it an they get knocked back an stand there stupified for several rounds. however i can't sem to get the Invoke property of the staff to work, my character does the cast animation, but no lights or effects. The purple weapons seem to do magic based damage (the scepters of "whatever" have the charge shot thing goin on, others weapons don't)

The staff of the grove invokes a Giant Tree Thingy, but my nether magic level is around 9 or so.
