It´s easy to kill Firkraag. All you need is a bow and some arrows that can do some damage on him. You get his attention by making him mad (attack him) then you go back up the stairs. Then you boost the character that got the bow (Fireresistent). You go down to the cells where the prisenor was held, now Firkraag will stand there. He will be to far away to cast any spells, so just stand on your spot and shot you arrows at him. Firkraag will be abel to breath fire on you so be carefull. After a time (short) he will be a dead dragon!!
In the patched game, Firkraag no longer stands around if wounded, but moves towards enemies.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Something that I found really useful the first time I fought him was a potion of icedust, if you use it just as the flame starts it negates his attack. But of course, by the fourth time around you'll have 2 mages going Lower Resistance and Breach respectively, 2 or 3 tanks whacking away at the front and then Magic Missiles (mages and wands), and he's dead before he breathes fire at you. :)
I remember the Shadow Dragon being pretty easy, provided you kept your ranged weapon users/mages running away while the tanks were unconscious... the last time I played the black dragon I had ToB abilities so he was easy, but I'm afraid I don't really remember the before.

Wow, all these things about summoned people. Theyre useless because Im about 95% sure he uses deathspell which automatically kills summoned creatures. Best way, simple, since your main character is an assassin, set as many traps as you can, rest if you need more to lay around him. Start attacking him and the traps activate. BAM! badly injured, then just hammer him and cast a few magic missles. Toast. Hope that helps. (If its not him that casts death spell, may be another dragon, then summons will be very helpful). Goodluck. :D

I find that dragons get easy after you kill firkraag, the next most annoying was the one in suldanessar, crappy entangle(aerie killed that one!!).

and about the traps, I have throne of Bhall now and if you fail to set a snare it can kill you. It killed me twice already, so I had to reload. is there a way to avoid this?

Are there any dragons in TOB, because I find fire giants hard now, they do so much damage and wipe me out, even though they are easy to kill, but thats off topic.

The trap problem is linked to a low setting traps skill. Work on the trap skill on your next level up (you'll have to scroll down the thieves habilities) and you'll be killing almost everyone in the game with those tricky little traps.

This very easy tactic has always done well by me when fighting any dragon or other single powerful enemy.....Surround.
If you have 2 in front and two behind, the dreaded buffalo wing buffet can't
knock every one back.(I dont think it is a full 360" effect)

also, dont be afraid to run, what I mean is watch the text at the bottom , and when it says "Ixxylldrizztsnot attacks keldorn" have him fade behind stronger, healed fighters.
Jaheira's mouth is an open wound in her head...........I would plug it had i the power!

right now I think my trap setting is at 40. i hope that will kill tough enemys like fire freakin giants and dragons.

and for killing them I found that a good strategy to surround them. My 4 warriors(Me(Assassin), Minsc, Keldorn, and Jaheira) pummel them to the ground along with the magic missile from imoen and aerie

@greg remember that your surrounding tactic doesnt work on tactics mod. So if you're playing it hardcore, you'll have to stand wing buffet on both sides.

@Berethor: 40 is very low. Raise it further. From 90 ahead you'll have decent traps, and good possibility of kills, but not before that.

Fire giants do hit pretty hard, but they're very narrowminded and will fall easily to defensive spells, so a bard or something similar with stone skin works very well.

And yes, there are dragons in ToB. There's three of them, two are in Watcher's Keep (one which you doesn't have to kill unless you want) and one... No wait, that was SoA. There's two more which you'll have to kill that's included in the story line.

You're able to kick some serious butt when you reach them though. It's not like Firkraak.

Head to the west to access Watcher's Keep. Protect your main fighters from fire when facing fire giants which will reduce the damage taken and haste too.

Later on there is a dungeon with a few dragons in it. And one is an optional fight where the other two aren't.

Berethor, you have the scales, which white dragon you want to kill? there's no one in the game. Now take the scales to your friend in the pocket plane and voilá.

Watchers keep is great fun, I love all the hard battles and sweet items there. Doen't matter if you have to go a ways, it's worth it. Did anyone ever manage to beat the huge demon at the end? The demigod? Sorry thats off-topic, but I'm curious :D .

Well, for one you can sneak into it and get some nice unlimited arrow/bolt/something stuff. And the first level is pretty easy, you get a nice bastard sword +3 and such things for it. The thing with WC is that you don't have to do it all at the same time.

And I think most of us here have killed Demogorgon. Last time I did it, it was with my soloing fighter/thief. Though it did require a few loads, which he isn't used to. ^^;

There were 2 dragons in there, saldrex and a blue one, but they arent the problem.

I have the keys, but I cant kill the duardians from any of the pedestals, and none of them are dragons. Im level 29 now.

I beat the game but there is definatly a tougher dragon than Firkraag. Abazigal and his chamber guard were pieces of cake, but the one I had problems with was draconis. First he was a monk that casted timestop and then just wailed on jaheira, then he turned into a dragon. he summoned a horde of invisible stalkers, then he went invisible. if it wasnt for keldorns true sight that battle would have taken a couple of reloads.

6x cloud kill casting it out of sight and you have a dead dragon. Also, once did it with a solo ranger on insane boots of speed, running around ALOT and shooting some arrows once in a while, worked for me :) .

What I usually do, what doesn't cost too much effort is:

Nalia, Aerie and my main charcter (mage/thief) cast 3 cloudkills each,
summons some skeletons and after the Cloudkills work out I let the skeletons attack him and have my three mages cast magic missiles:
no part members were killed or even hurt (my other three were just waiting by the exit) and the same tactic also worked for that shadow dragon Taxil-my name is way too difficult to pronounce-sshilisa

My question now: Can I kill that dragon in the Underdark or are there too nasty side affects to it?
