Ooh! Such a memory for details. Actually my PDA isn't connected to the Net or anything. I'd need Wi-fi or something. Might look into someday.

May be a surprise to you, but not to me. :D ;)

At least with Juni gone, I won't have to hear any more innuendo from you today. YAY! :D

My surname apparently has a long and noble history too :o
Oh and a crest and tartan too. :D
And even a clan motto.
How about that for history! :D

The fights? One is on pg. 347, the other is too far back for me to bother with suffice to say chus lost with gouged eyes. Nasty! :p

My surname is Gunn. The motto is 'Aut Pax, Aut Bellum' which apparently means Either peace or war. Very profound. :o :p

Im a Gunn through my grandfathers side...also an inness. On my grandmothers side is where the irish and the mcloeds comes in. Major blood lines.

Ours is hold fast. Because of this we were over run repeatedly in great wars when we fought under the gunn tartan.

But were more loved and populus now. Bow before your master. :p

I am currently thinking of nasty ways to use socks. I am up to 22. ;)

I dont know, maybe. Im used to seeing Lewis everywhere and having to tell people that Im not...notice that most of them just say that to try to betray the fact that they know nothing?

Are you irish or scottish...im guessing irish. :)

Wow, we could be incredibly distantly related. What a scary thought. *shudder*

Apparently there's also a 'shield of arms' linked to my name which is described in a heraldic language as- Argent, on a sea a lymphad sails unfurled all proper, three flags gules, on a chief of the last three legs in armour conjoined at the upper part of the thigh between two mullets or.

Twist that. Should be easy enough. :D
I have a small heraldry booklet. That's where I'm getting all this stuff.

If not Lewis or Skye, somewhere else in the Hebrides? :p

too easy. Give me a challenge. I thought of 60 ways with thoigh in 2 seconds/ Likely with Lymphad and unfurled. Oh, and the mullets.

We fought under Gunns tartans, it means nothing. We did it cause at the time we couldnt stand alone. Maybe some couple got together. Who knows? Unlikely though. Sorry, Rav, your not graced with my genes. :D

Damn it to hell. Usually I confuse the irish with the scottish, since all my relatives act the same. the one time I dont say scottish...

Then fiona must be yer given name.

Who else but a Scot would have good knowledge of Scottish geography? Other than a mapmaker or Scottish genealogist. :p ;)
Sorry, Rav, your not graced with my genes.

*sigh of relief* :p ;)

I have a modern translation of that Heraldric language here:
A silver shield on which are featured a sailing ship, three red flags, on a band of red at the top of the shield are three armoured legs surrounded by two gold stars.

*smacks Rav* unworthy blood line.

In Canada, the highland games celebrate ireland and scotland. Many irish come to the event, even though the cities here were made by the Scottish.

I hadn't known that there were links between Canada and Scotland/Ireland. I thought it was mainly American and French :p

Last bit of info from the book (I think) :p .

The crest- A dexter hand wielding a sword proper or a right hand with a sword.

Tsk. He double posted. Here, a reward: *passes whisky* :p

The Irish like a party, in my experience. An American comedian said his girlfriend comes from a large Irish family. When he comes home and apologises for being drunk she just looks sceptical and says "no you not" Got to tell you something
