Selections for Bonus Feats

Post by Dinadon »

Hi, I'm planning on making a fighter who has both devestating critical and improved whirlwind attack, but I don't know the complete list of selectable feats for the fighter's bonus feats (at least not for feats from the expansions). Any help is much appretiated

Actually, whilst I'm asking (if it isn't too much touble), could I get the same for the wizard bonus feats and the rogue bonus feats? Assuming that the possible selections have changed due to the expansions.

EDIT- And the Champion of Torm as well please (if there are restrictions on what can be taken for their bonus feats).

to many hight stat

[QUOTE=Dinadon]Hi, I'm planning on making a fighter who has both devestating critical and improved whirlwind attack, but I don't know the complete list of selectable feats for the fighter's bonus feats (at least not for feats from the expansions). Any help is much appretiated

by manual to get devasting critical you nead a lot of feat
but first need level 21 and strenght 25+
the feat are:
1 cleave
2. greater cleave
3. improve critical of the chosen weapon
4. overhelming critical of the chosen weapon (epic )
5.weapon focus
6 power attack

feat at level 1 ,3(2),5,6,7,9(2),11,12,13,15(2),17.18,19
total 16 feat
to be at strength 25 at level 21 you need to begin game with strengh 20
and increase only the strength
or to take great strenght after level 20 until you get strength =25
overhelming critcal can be also taken after level 21 when strenght =23
anyway chose carfuly your weapon
improved whirlwind :int 13+ dex 23+ level 21
feat
1. dodge
2. Expertise
3. spring attack
4. whirlind attack(mobility)

botom line : you will need a lot of level to get stat hight enaugh
minimum to begin with 13 in :
strength , intelligence and dexterity
maybe it possible to shorten with 4 level of red dragon after some level of bard or sorcerer
good luck!

Right, I'll give you the gist of how I'm going to develop this character

Starting Stats:

Human/Half Elf/Half Orc
Str(16), Dex (16), Con(12), Int (14), Wis (8), Cha (8)

Elf
Str(16), Dex (17), Con(12), Int (14), Wis (8), Cha (8)

Dwarf
Str(16), Dex (16), Con(14), Int (14), Wis (8), Cha (8)

Halfling
Str(14), Dex (18), Con(12), Int (14), Wis (8), Cha (8)

Gnome
Because of the strength penalty (and no Dex bonus) I don't believe you should attempt this with Gnomes, but should you wish, ensure to get at least:
Str(15), Dex (16), Int (13)

Development

Lv 4: +1 Str
Lv 8: +1 Str
Lv 12: +1 Str
Lv 16: +1 Str
Lv 20: +1 Str
Lv 21: Great Strength I
Lv 24: +1 Str, Great Strength II
Lv 27: Great Strength III
Lv 28: +1 Dex
Lv 30: Great Dexterity I
Lv 32: +1 Dex
Lv 33: Great Dexterity II
Lv 36: +1 Dex, Great Dexterity III
Lv 40: +1 Dex, Improved Whirlwind Attack

This is a list of only the stuff that is definite. Obviously, you can mix and match all the strength and dexterity bonuses, but the emphasis is on getting the devastating critical first whilst getting whirlwind attack before level 20. For elves, halflings and gnomes the above has to be changed slightly. Elves don't need as many dexterity bonuses, so they will have two of their normal feats (at epic level) free to use. Halflings need to switch two of their Dex bonuses to Str bonuses. Gnomes will need to use all their normal epic feats to get the required stats.

Should I become a red dragon disciple? Well, you'll end up with one level of bard/sorcerer and two levels of red dragon disciple minimum. You'll loose two of your fighter feats (Lv 38 fighter and Lv 40 fighter), but'll you free up two of your normal feats. You might also end up with an exp penalty. However, getting one level bard/sorcerer and four levels of red dragon disciple will free up four normal feats at the expense of three fighter feats, but you will get an exp penalty. In both cases (and these are the only two multiclass paths you should take), you'll lose hp compared to a pure fighter.

How many weapons? You have enough free space to max out with two different weapons (epic weapon focus, epic weapon specilization and devastating critical with both of them), but you'll end up with a limited number of remaining feats in which to put anything else (approx. 6-7 feats, depending upon race and not multiclassing). Of course, maxing in only one weapon will free additional feats (8, unless you want to focus on an exotic weapon, in which case 7).

Two weapon fighting - if you choose to fight like this, make sure to get improved two weapon fighting. If you do decide to wield two different weapons, and want to have devastating critical with both of them, don't take weapon specilization, and definitly not epic weapon specilization, in the off hand weapon (note, this is based on the assumption that the damage modifer is total before the off hand damage limit is applied [enchantment and element damage bonuses are unaffected by this])

Well, that's my take on this kind of character and how I would suggest to develop it. Now I just need to come up with a definite plan.
