Fable TLC; investigating mayor lady grey

I spoken to boyfriend of the dead sister and gone through to the grey house and I been trying to work out how to flash the lamp. I try looking for it and cant find anything by the stables and I got a lamp in my inventory and try that and nothing happens, can someone help me to see what I am doing wrong

u have to use the lamp once and turn it on then once again to turn it off. u do that 3 times.

look for the lamp in your inventory and then drag it to your quick inventory below. that way flashing it three time will be a cinch!!

Can't figure out where the stables section is. I've done it next to the broken wagon which is the obvious place. I've done it farther back by the grave sites. I just can't seem to find the "spot" to trigger the ghost appearance.
