@ Kythras & Ravager, been playing cricket so I haven't been able to respond, I'm going to go back a bit and then catch up, sorry about this.

A paladin! Kron thought amazed, he had to be careful now, paladins usually try and make him repent on the spot, which wasn't the problem, the problem was they actually had the skill to do it. Claiming his drink, Kron sat down away from the couple, biding his time for now. Due to being a drow, he has learnt many things about spying, such as discerning things without looking. Amazed, he saw a slight show of horns from the woman, and he thought he heard the man say he was Asaimar. This was turning out strange indeed, a demon and an angel, paladin and ranger, meeting together. Chuckling to himself, he saw the man get up to get drinks, glancing back at Kron, who immediately hid his features. Asking the barman for another drink on the man's tab, he listened in again. Hearing they were going to the temple was rather interesting. Needing a place to sleep, Kron used his powers to move someone's gold out of the pocket, to fall softly on the floor. Walking over he picked it up, this was a feat he was used often, and paid for a room.

Rising early, Kron slipped down to have breakfast, and seated himself in a corner where we wouldn't be noticed. Soon the Tiefling came down, dresed in an attempt to woo the Paladin. Finally he came down, heading straight towards the Tiefling. Hearing them sayinig they were going to the temple, Kron decided that would be interesting to see, and besides, if the people were going to the same island as him, it would be worthwhile following them. The man was obviously infatuated with the woman, who was madly in love with him, so they wouldn't be watching if they were followed.

Sneaking in, Kron watched in amusement as the Tiefling threw back her hood. Seeing the looks of suprise on the people's faces, Kron knew the only thing that could top that is if a Drow were to do that. Grinning, Kron waited for his chance.

@Venom, no problem, hopefully we won't have to temporarily write you out of the dialogue too much. :p
"Twaynith, Follower of Sune Firehair and..." She threw back her hood, revealing her heritage for him to see, "Tiefling Ranger..."
There were audible gasps of shock from around the room and some of the acolytes even raised weapons, the hierophant raised his hand in what was obviously a gesture the acolytes understood, they lowered their weapons but stayed alert.
"I'm sure Sh'rarn has a good reason to bring this demon-touched woman before us." the hierophant stated looking in Sh'rarn's direction.
Looking in Tway's direction he said,"Twaynith is neither evil or truly demonic. It is an accident of fate that she is tiefling and she has proved herself to me." He looked around the room slowly eventuially settling his gaze on the hierophant, That should be good enough for all of you."
The hierophant was startled that anyone could sponsor a Tiefling let alone an Aasimar Paladin, one of the races so diametrically opposed to Evil. "The question remains, why do you bring her before us?".
"We are both in need of direction and I believed you could help us", Sh'rarn replied, "there are rumours of an island named Sterenear and I have heard of orcs running rampage on the island killing many innocents, do you know anything more of this?"
The hierophant paused in reply before answering, "I can tell you more to this soon, but what does this Tiefling want?"
Sh'rarn narrowed his eyes, "Her name is Twaynith."
The hierophant nodded "My apologies".

Seeing now was as good a time as any, Kron made his move. Pushing his way through everyone, he pulled his cloak one last time, and walked towards the Paladin.

"Greetings Paladin, we meet again. I see that being in love with this Tiefling has softened your heart towards evil, is it truly wise to do this? You are probably wondering why I am here, but it is because I too wish to go to Sterenear." Kron said all this with a smirk on his face, each word carefully calculated.

Tway did not falter through the whole proceedings. She maintain her gaze at the heirophant, partially to show him that she was not planning any demonic foolery, but in no small part, also because she didn't think she could handle the disgusted or mistrusting stares of the acolytes. But Sh'rarn words struck deep with her, he was defending her, in the face of an elder of his faith... perhaps there was hope.

"I can tell you more to this soon, but what does this Tiefling want?.. My apologies"

Her gaze was still locked with the heirophant, though she had visibly relaxed. "I am here for answers, Lady Firehair is a matron to me, not a guide. I know not quite I have come to Baldur's Gate. Some unseen force has guided me here, guided me to Sh'rarn and in turn directed me to this shrine. I would not dare to call myself an expert on the machinations of the higher beings and their cohorts, so I you for answers..." She exhaled slowly, let them make of that what they will, it was the truth.

Then that cloaked figure from the inn pushed through the crowd. Tway's eyes narrowed dangerously, he had followed them, there was no other way he would be in the shrine. Before Sh'rarn could give a chance to speak she stepped forward, confronting the strange man. "Throw back your hood stranger, even I hold no secret here. We are under the eyes of a god" For she sincerely doubted te Red Knight had anything more interesting to do than watch the unfolding drama in his shrine, "Whatever you hide, let it be unhidden, you shall be judged on merit here, as I have," she gave a very pronounce smile to Sh'rarn, and waited for his response to the man, though more of her was waiting on his response to the claims of love...

Her words made an impact on the hierophant, who had certainly expected a lot different from one of her heritage. However before he could reply a familiar stranger burst in. How he managed to avoid all the acolytes in the building and get this far in without attracting attention was beyond Sh'rarn.
The hierophant angrily demanded, "Who are you and why are you here?!"
Several of the acolytes raised their weapons again though the stranger didn't appear fazed in the least.

Sh'rarn was proud of her response, one fitting of a Paladin. Soon, more of the truth would be revealed...

"How original, the paladins wish to know who they are versing. They can't bear not to know the truth. Very well, this is your establishment so I will abide by the rules. Also, I'd expect you wouldn't want to shed blood on the lovely floor, so I should be safe. Here, you wish to see all, enjoy." With a flourish Kron revealed himself, grinning in all his glory.

Tway didn't know what she had been expecting. Surely not another planetouched, maybe a leper or a wellspoken if self-conscious half-orc. But a Drow! It was beyond even her wildest imagining. As far as she knew, there was only one Drow on the surface, and she had met him, this was deffinately not Drizzt Do'Urden. Whilst she was in no position to make assuptions due to the man's race, she did rest her hand on the hilt of her blade.

She had done her part, made this made reveal himself. It was not truly her place to interogate him, so she took a step backward, placing her a foot and to the side of Sh'rarn and te heirophant. It was their temple, they would deal with the dark elf...

"Why are you here *drow* and why do you want passage to Stenraer? We will not harm you unless you provoke us to do so", Sh'rarn addressed the mysterious drow as he circled him. Many acolytes still had their weapons raised and no-one was giving an inch.

"Why do I want passage to that island? Like you I have heard the rumours about the orcs, which does interest me. Not because of some foolish noble errand like you paladins do to kill yourself. No, I'm going there for the experience of killing trolls, loot to be gained, oh, and to meet up with my 'cousins'" Saying cousins with a slithering to his voice. Resuming again, "My best chance of going to the island lies with you. Even though you are a bumbling love-sick fool, I can see you are handy with a sword, so I would be interested in assisting you. Oh, and I love the place you have here, such a smart way to spend all the money you gain, on something that can't be used. Showcases the intelligence of the whole temple."

This is where the fun beings, thought Kron. The paladin was protecting his lass without realising, holding his blade at the ready, as was the woman. Then there were the acolytes, who in their blind-faith and lack of knowledge were ready to attack.

"Yes, kill me because I'm a drow. Sure, I've killed before, but then again what does one do when he has an ignorant mob trying to sacrifice you." Kron said all this with a false repentent look. Of course they would believe him, fit him with clothes, and some gold for the trip. Yep, they were tools to be used.

Something simmered in Tway's blood, this stupid Drow was insulting religion, bad enough had it been for Tway alone, but insulting Paladins and the Red Knight was apersonal attack against Sh'rarn, and that she would not stand for. "How dare you!" Tway's voice was quivering with fury, "You walk in here and insult the religion of this shrine. What do you know of religion! Your precious Spider Queen? Ha! She is a mockery, not worthy of note besides the true gods of Toril!" She finally managed to calm herself, though her blood still simmered just beneath her skin.

"I suggest you leave, or you will be removed, methinks the first option would be the less painful..." She crossed her arms across her chest and gave her best "not-tonight-buddy" look from her Luskan days. She really didn't want any bloodshed, even if it was this callous Drow's blood...

Who did this drow think he was, sneaking into the shrine and blatantly disrespecting his religion?! Sh'rarn was shocked by the passion Twaynith vented defending the Red Knights. He wondered if Sune really preached such tolerance and mutual respect of other religions.

The hierophant was still in shock, he obviously hadn't dealt with such an event before. He appeared a fish out of water, so Sh'rarn stepped in again.

"Wait, what skills do you have and how would we know that you wouldn't betray us as soon as we arrived on the isle?"

"Firstly, to the stunning lady who misinturpreted what I said. I was not offending nor insulting this religion. To start with, I am not a follower of Lloth, I renounced her false promises after I killed the Matron Mother and fled the city. I guess to you past actions don't matter, it's your race that defines you. I have done an act that if your race did it, they would be proclaimed an instant hero, however me doing it means that I'm evil because I killed. And I said the part about the funds because I know that the Red Knights are famous. Some of their group attempted to kill me while I slept in an inn once, I escaped, and didn't look back. They are successful normally, and as such, earn large amounts of gold, however I do not think it should be wasted on pretty paintings, rather it should be used to help the community. I guess helping others sounds stupid to a strong-willed woman like you, but I can't help if you don't think about sharing wealth."

Kron smiled inside, no man or especially this woman could not be moved by that speech. Looking at the Tiefling, Kron began to think that perhaps he could win this woman from the foolish paladin. It was worth a try.

"And as for betraying you, well of course one of my race must be evil. Drizzit has done many great deeds for your race, yet is he still evil? I guess you will have to trust me, but I'm not worth of trust am I. What skills do I have? I am an accomplished sorcerer, who has been misused. After escaping the ravages of the Underdark, I was too tired to continue, and promptly passed out. I was saved by someone, who I later found out was a wizard of Thay. This wizard saved me for one reason, to harvest my power. As I lay incapacitated the wizard studied me. Then one night he was attempting to drain my life-force for some reason, immediately I unleashed all my energy, breaking down the previous spell and knocking the wizard down. He lost his knife, which I grabbed and stabbed him to death in the frenzy. Of course none of the horrors I have been through mean anything to you fortunate people. You have lived comfortably, and without constant mortal danger, while everytime I go somewhere I am forced to kill to save myself. You think I enjoyed it? NO! I didn't, but I had to do it. Is it any wonder why I am so angry and it may have appeared like I have tried to insult you. These people have tried to kill me, am I supposed to forget that?

Anyway, I will trust you, the lady whose name I know not because I believe she knows what it is like to be persecuted. As for the paladin, I will trust him because I can trust, unlike his order which will no doubt kill me in a matter of minutes."

This should work like a charm thought Kron.

It was a trick, a cunning trick. This sorry soul held no remorse for any drop of blood he had spilt. He may not be evil, but he definitely came a close second, and there was one comment that struck far too close to home for Tway's liking. In two quick strides she was right up in the Drow's face (She seems to like doing that). Her voice was as cold as ice when she spoke, "You would presume to put yourself on a par with Drizzt Do'Urden. Yes, that great man has done much for the north, surely much of it is in his debt. Whereas you are some unproven scoundrel who makes a habit of insulting people without provocation. I have met Drizzt, I know of his honour and selflessness, and until I see the same from you..." she left that haning before continuing in a whisper meant only for the Drow's ears, "If you so much as look at me or Sh'rarn wrong, you may find youself with a few more appendages... wooden ones... with fletchings, if you catch my meaning." She pulled back, still eyeing the Drow coldly, "Sh'rarn, if you deem this elf worthy of our trust then I shall deem him thus aswell, you are, after all, the leader in this escapade..."

Sh'rarn did not trust this drow but neither did he sense complete untruthfulness. "You may have gone through much" he addressed the drow, "but that does not mean we should immediately trust you. Such a thing has to be earned. Your abilities may be useful though and I'm willing to give you a chance, with the hierophant's approval of course."
Sh'rarn looked at the hierophant, "I will agree with your decison", the hierophant answered.
Turning back to the dark elf he said, "Don't think we won't be watching for signs of betrayal, some of your race may have abandoned the principles of the majority but many more deserve their bad reputation".

Kron bowed his head. “I thought you would understand what it is like to be judged by your race’s actions. I’m guessing not now. I am jealous at how you have been spared the torment, for one as beautiful as your should not have to go through such experiences. Did you know that my earliest memory is my mother being killed and the Matron Mother having me taken away? I had just been born, and my mother was attempting to carve upon me the clan tattoo, I was an infant and somehow I cast a spell which killed how. How can one live with having killed their mother, everyday I feel the shame, yet none of you have ever seen your parent killed before your eyes. No, I am not on par with Drizzit. In fact, much to my everlasting hope, I wish to meet the man that inspired me to change my ways. In fact, I would love to hear of what he had to say when we start adventuring, if you can find it in your heart to let me travel and trust me. And dear lady, how could one look at you the wrong way, perhaps a human like our friend over there might, but I know of the prejudices of us being different, though thankfully it seems you haven’t faced half of what I have. And I’m fine with Sh’rarn being leader, he seems like a noble and good meaning man, it is no surprise that you would love one such as him, I envy him deeply that he has such a woman that pursues his affections. And if he so much as looks at you the wrong way, I won’t just stop with new limbs, I go further than that, much further… But now, I do apologise to you for all my races actions, you know that I didn't have choice who I am, but I do have a I choice of what I do. But then again, I doubt you would really care, being Drow seems to have that effect.”

Turning to the paladin, Kron said, "I see that despite your attitude, which I can read, you will give me a chance. You can watch me for betrayal all you want, afterall I am 'evil' am I not. It seems that actions don't have anything to do with alignment, for you people it's simply race. I don't know why I bother, I just wish you were as tolerant to me as you are to the lady. And if we are to be comrades, perhaps names would be in order. I am Kron, a renegade Drow, who for the first time, is being able to be trusted by people."

She threw him a withering glare. "First, don't try and throw us on some rubbishy guilt trip, any action that has befallen you I am sure was of your own fault, I can feel no mercy for one as wretched as you. Second, if you have truly thrown away your heritage, then you would know your mother for the monster she was, and would feel no guilt, and if you have not.. well you wouldn't know the meaning of conscience. Third, you did not leave your people in a search to better your ways, you have demonstrated today that you will go to any means to get what you want as one surface dwelling Drow I can think of would never stoop to do. Fourth, Drizzt is not your rolemodel... or you would be able to pronounce his name properly. Fifth, don't try and flatter me, it will just make your lie-filled sentences take that much longer to choke out." Tway was truly growing sick of this Drow, though if Sh'rarn found him worthy of their alliance, then she would follow him... come to think of it, Tway would follow Sh'rarn to the pits of the Abyss if he lead her there...

Sh'rarn sighed. "I like him little more than you seem to, Tway. But he should be at least given the chance to raise himself above the standards of his kin."
Turning to the drow who had introduced himself as Kron he said, "Twaynith earned that trust whereas I still don't know what to make of you. "

He heard what Kron said about his 'affection' for Tway and although he strictly didn't have have this and could see Twaynith's reaction to the words. However, he did not wish to reveal such things in front of the drow who might try to gain advantage or manipulate them.

Kron looked up with amazement written all over his face. “Is it my fault that I am a Drow. If I could change I would, but I can’t. Everywhere I go, I am pointed at, have things hurled at me, people try to kill me. You think I chose to suffer such an existence. How can your heart be so cold not to believe me. You think I’m making this up don’t you. I am shocked at you Tiefling. I am guilty for my mother, I may hate her, but the fact is, I have no family. The one member of my family I even knew I killed. How does that make one feel? I have tried to be myself. What happened? I had everyone draw their weapons, and prepare to attack. I spoke, and immediately I was hated. Now, that I am trying to make amends, you hate me even more. So is it impossible for me to actually have people take me for who I am, because if it is I am wasting my time here. And I mispronounced Drizzt. You know why? Because in my city, if you mention the name you were killed. I have heard the name twice back then, and that was when I was a child. Then when I reached the surface, I have heard people mention the name in their accent, which comes across as Drizzit. Not knowing your customs, I believed that was how it was pronounced, however more I have failed, resulting in me being seen as an idiot. Finally, I wasn’t trying to flatter you. I have known several paladins, many of which never lived up to their vows. There are places in this world you probably haven’t heard of, they are called brothels, places where men go for pleasure. In one town, I was told to meet a specific man who promised me he would take me under his wing until we reached a town and everything would be organised. This man was a paladin, and I was told to meet him in a brothel, I arrived early and he was being ‘serviced’ by two women. Now, I would not tell you this, except to explain why I wish to make sure that he does not just use you for your looks. But I won’t make reference in the future, but I will still make sure that the paladin is a just and fair man.”

Kron was beginning to grow weary of this, this woman would obviously hate him due to his ancestor’s crimes. Scolding himself, he realised, he should be used to this, it had always happened.

Turning to the Paladin, "Why thankyou Sh'rarn. I'm glad that you will offer me the chance, and I'm hoping that like Twaynith I can prove myself. I'm also glad to hear you have given me names to use, rather than having to address by race, which is extremely rude."

It took all of Tway's willpower to stop herself falling on te ground in bouts of uncontrolable laughter, instead she somehow maintain te glare as Kron responded to her accusations. "I do not hate you for what you are elf, I hate you for what you pretend to be." she began "Do not speak of family to me Drow. You cannot surely feel anything for your family, in truth, oyu would have been an object, a pretty trinket your mother would have used to gain influeince, nurtured for your magical talent, but never your blood. One skilled caster is as good as another in Drow 'society.' Family differs depending on your perspective, and if you miss your Drow family, then why are we trusting you." She took a deep breath, this was the longest conversation she had had in four years... incidentally the other longest had also been with a Drow. "If you truly were a force for good in this world, the rebukes of simple townsfolk would be as pebbles against plate-armour. Drizzt has suffered a thousand such accusations an more, yet he does not complain of his station, he feels no self-pity as his self-inflicted code of morals and honour defines. Learn to accept these attacks, or be forever a wanderer on the surface. And do not speak of you 'laws' Drow cities are places of controled chaos, in all conrers and undoubtably in your Academy Drizzt is cited as Drowkind's greatest faliure. She couldn't help a small smile at his brothel comment, of course, she knew... she knew better than most. "Do no question the integrity of this man" Tway said, motioning over her shoulder to Sh'rarn, "As of yet you are in no position to be making any accusations, not after this display. This arguement is over Kron, she said scathingly, "I'll not stand for this holy-place being so polluted by your lies." She was well adn truly finished with the Drow, if she never said a stray word to him in the rest of her life, it wouldn't bother her in the slightest...

Tway obviously had much to say on this issue and really would not trust Kron under any circumstances. Still he thought it unfair to summarily judge a drow based on either his Lolth loving kin OR the standards of Drizzt Do'Urden.
Looking Twaynith in the eye he said, "Tway! You cannot compare Kron so easily to other drow, after all, we are all individuals and although I cannot honestly say I trust Kron, I am willing to give him a chance to do so. Besides his magical talent may come in useful on our trip. We all carry our own burdens just as you suffer folk that judge you on appearance. Just as I did to an extent when I saw you were Tiefling. I appreciate your concern for me, but I believe we can't just ignore this opportunity."
