Well it has a few theories, none proven, some say its a mix of all of them.

Kids that have:

Been neglected baths,
Been exposed for a long time to cans of SPAM (empty),
Been exposed to a serie of halucinogenous mushrooms,
Been never exposed to horror movies on the childhood.

I guess in fact Ikky had # 3.
