Also, one group may be incredibly active, while the other only goes a quarter as fast. Soon, one wants to know what is coming up, and looks in the other thread.I also thought of two separate groups, but that would be kinda hard due the story and some special things inside it. So, at least in this point, that will be out of question.
Another problem is the amount of members in this game. Kipi is goiung to have to make some large and difficult battles. So far, you have:
Slade
Ravager
Kipi
Magrus (? May simetimes be controlled by Kipi)
Yepi
Darkwolf
Kythras
DJV
To try and have all these members on at the same time is going to be difficult. 8 people from different time zones are difficult to get to gether. Heck, cross North America games are difficult.
True. I agree, this is going to have to be a large campaign. And Rav, I forgot about your computing course... although I dont see why you are complaining, I had dozens of lectures a week. Also, another DM would be kinda hard, cause then I have to brief him/her everything conserning the story and the world, give all the maps and such, which would be very bug job.
Anyways, Dark Wolf, this may cause you to have to get up somewhat early, as you are Malaysian. The Aussies and the Europenas are close to opposite sides of the day... if those in Europe could rotate the time for them to sometime around 8, or 9? Then, it would be somewhat later for the Aussies and the Malaysian in this game, as it would be later in the morning. Anyways, the North AMericans would have to come on at 2 or 3...
Also, remember, Kipi may have to take control of some of your charcters, or someone take two, if you have a family emergency, or can not get on. This could also be an effective way of running the game.
Of course, this entire operation is under the control of Kipi... so any decisions for the game are his and his alone, although being a novice, I think he needs as much help as he can get. No offence, Kipi.

How early is that? I'm ok, as long as it's around the weekend....if we're talking about 6,7 Sat i could adjust my sleep time
...not so much time if Sunday morning cos i'll be going to church, and working (8.30am-5.30pm) on weekday...
Ravager, I would appreciate it if you can help out with the skill points. IWD skills are limited i suspect, compare to the pen & paper D&D (or online in our case)
edit: I'm going back from office now. I might be getting my broadband connection tonite, so i'll might try it out... guess that's about 5 hrs later as i need to do something else

Not much activity lately, it seems
I'm making my suggestion again, and this time, everyone please post you opinion!!
I suggest, based on Hill's original idea, that I start the game-thread, post the starting post, then each one of you post their reactions/actions. WHen I see everybody has posted or agreed time has run out (I suggest 48 hours from my previous post), I'll post again including results of your actions and such, then again you have 48 hours max to make your reaction/action, and when I see everybody has posted or time has run out, I'll post again and so on...
This way, we can get the game going, and we have a bit more time to find the time for first session.
And if someone doesn't post during the timelimit, I'll get control of that character for that "round".
Okay to everybody? Any thoughts/opinions?
If I don't get any negative answer before this friday 6.00 pm (my time, GMT+3), I'll start the gamethread and the counting of time starts...
I think that would probably be the easiest thing to do, and it caters for everyone...
Just a pity we couldn't all play at once, but what can you expect, damn Laws of the Universe.
Yet this doesn't mean we can't, it's just that we get the game starting. WE can still have those sessions.

I'm happy doing that.
I would suggest for things like combat that you ask people to roll say 5 attack rolls and damage so it can be worked out in one go, rather than someone posting an attack, you confirming it's hit, the other person rolling damage and repeat etc.
Then the rolls after an enemy has been killed can be ignored as neccesary.
And use that kind of thing whenever possible.

Good point there
How does the following sounds:
When fight begins, each of you post in same post actions and rolls next 5 rounds, as also the list in which order you would like to attack the enemy. The I take the info from there, make the calculations, and post results.
For example:
There are characters A and B they are fighting agains monsters a,b,c and d.
It would go something like this:
ROUND1:
Cast magic missile to a
ROUND2:
Attack a, roll 1d20+2=16, damage 1d6=4
ROUND3:
Cast Cure light to B
ROUND4:
Cast Flame Arrow to b
ROUND5:
Attack a, roll 1d20+2=13, damage 1d6=6
Order: a,b,d,c
So, lets say that in Round 1, A kills monster a. In second round, cause "a" is dead, I took next one from order-list, in this case b. A attacks to b, damaging it. On Round 3, A cures B. On Round 4 A kills b. On round 5, since b is dead, A attacks agains d, which is next in list.
Understandable? Comments? Opinions?
The ammount of rounds in one post can always be decided together, this was just example.

Yeah, that's better than I thought. I hadn't thought of implementing it to more than 1 enemy in combat.
Of course, the only problem with that, is that a player can't react to something another player does, but I see no way around that (bar posting move by move which would be far too slow- unless we were all here).

I think that could work...I'll try to come on saturdays....but I really doubt Ill make it on Sundays..Mon-Fri Im here....So for that attack strategy the next attack would go to c once d is kill since c is next..right? (a,b,d,c).... Hey Rav could you explain to me the damage calculations when you get a chance? Please.Thank you.

Damage is based on the weapon you're using. So if I was to use a lance I'd get 1d8+3 damage. Roll a 1d8 die and add 3 to the result. I'm not sure what weapon your character is using though.
You'd also roll to see if you hit the creature too, that would be a 1d20 die. Just checking the bonuses. I think the bonus comes from one of the character stats.

So Im assuming that I (if I have a lance) roll a 1d8 die and then add 3 to the result then I roll a 1d20 die and get the results from my weapon and subract it from the other result then subract that result from the creatures defense and if I get a postive number I killed it......or does my result of my weapon just have to be higher than the result of the roll of 1d20???

No. The first roll would be the 1d20. That determines whether you have hit the creature (though only Kipi would know if it has or not). For you it will be +4 when using a melee weapon, +3 when using a ranged weapon.
The damage roll assumes you have succeeded in hitting the creature and shows what injury you have done to the enemy. So, if you roll a 5 you enemy takes 5 damage (barring any resistances it might have). It's otherwise unconnected with the To Hit roll.
You're using a Greatsword so that's a 2d6 damage roll. So that presumably means you roll the d6 twice and add the results.

Then you would subtract those results to the creatures points and if it reaches zero its dead?

When you have a succesful hit, Kipi would subtract the result of the damage roll connected to it from the enemy's current HP.
I don't know if he's going to use the unconcious rule or not- that would mean someone is unconcious between 0 and -10 HP and dead at -10 HP, but you won't know the monster HP's. Just if you hit and what damage is done.

Oh I see, ok then, thanks for the help Rav...

Kipi, that sounds like a great idea, and as Rav says, if something needs to be reacted to, then I'm sure you could understand and then pause the fight to allow the changes to be made... though that is up to you.
Other than that, I'm ready to play because that sounds good.

In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
hi peeps i have not posted for ages because i have not found reason to. Hey slade maybe you could meet with my character somewhere, as im not very involved with tway, Rav and kron and i guess it would be sorta wierd joining in the middle of their plot, my thought anyway and since i have not really started anything with my character, just a few posts of introduction and his brawl with the sailor, maybe our character could meet each other and perhaps discuss a way onto the island. Im a bit sleepy so my english is all over the place
