Sterwick campaign - The game thread (NO SPAM!!)

*Note: At the beginning of the campaing, the group is sitting in local tavern in city of Isthar. (except Magrus' character, it will be added to your group when he returns.) The tavern is called Last Hope. Your party is thinking what to do, when the campaign begins...*

It's early morning, most of the visitors are still sleeping. You are sitting around table, planning, while waiting for breakfast, what to do next.

Suddenly, human starts walking towards your table. He is wearing leather armour, carries bow in his back and dagger in belt. His face is full of scars, making him look a bit ugly.

The man, who calls himself Sterwick, looks everybody sitting around the table.

I look at the man curiously as to wonder what his intentions are. I do not act right away by grabbing my sword...for it may cause an unwanted reaction from the man, but I merely observe him and wait for the others to give a sign of what to do next...

He then asks for help and Sh'rarn answers him with a question, I think he poses no threat...

I hear footsteps and look to the source of the sound. And armoured, armed and scarred man was approaching the table. He looked like the adventuring sort especially with those weapons. Ishtar or at least this tavern wasn't dangerous enough for the average person to be attired like that.

Kazar remained sceptical of this new.....arrival. He greeted Sterwick with a gruff "hello, do I get something out of your offer?" he didn't bother looking at the man, keeping his gaze on the 'red dragon' drink he had in front of him
With a deep gulp he washed down the remainder of the spicy red spirit.

Kron was content to let the matter rest with Sh'rarn. He had long wearied of trying to play leader, for the adventures back in Baldur's Gate pressed in his mind. If the man deserved the help, he would receive it. If he did not, then he would receive nothing. Let Sh'rarn decide. And with that Kron carefully pulled over his cloak and watched.

Excuse the break in character...however Yepi try to pick a colour and if you want, a font. This way, it mixes it up so it is easy to tell. Thanks .

EDIT FOR DARKWOLF:

I don't want to post again, seeing as it isn't my turn, rather I will tell you.

First of all, you can simply use the buttons up the top.

Colour - Select the text you want coloured, and then click

(fouth button from the right, the A) and choose your colour.

Font - Select the text you want fonted

, and then click The fonts button (second from the left up the top) and choose the appropriate font.

Thanks for trying, it'll make it easier on everyone.

And just a side note, when writing code, you have to spell like an American, so colour becomes color.

Halgrath, who was sitting alone at a nearby table, looks curiously at the event unfolding next to him. He has been sitting in the tavern for about half an hour, still thinking how he would start his quest on this strange place.

"Hmm, this might be an opening for me" he told himself as several of the party members greeted the stranger who has requested their aid. After all, the group at that table looks quite an interesting bunch of characters themselves.

Sterwick looks the one who introduced himself as Sh'rarn.
"Well, it's quite embarrasing. You see, I do not remember anything about myself. I was healed by clerics not long time ago, and before that, my only memory is the face of some kind of demon. But while those clerics tried to find out more by their magic, they got really scared, but didn't tell me why.
So, I'm in need of adventurers to help me reveal my past."

Sterwick suddenly looks the dwarf who spoke.
"And you, my little one, I don't know your name, but I can't promise anything because I don't remember anything.
But surely the face of demon promises something"

Sterwick looks the group once more.
"So, are you willing to help me?"

Kron waited for Sh'rarn's response. Glancing around, he noticed there was an individual nearby who was listening intently to their conversation. "Well, this shouldn't be too hard," Kron whispered to himself. Leaving his chair, waiting for the person to look towards the group again, rather than at him.

So, this man was connected to a demon in some way, though it was hard to tell whether it was for good or ill. If he was telling the truth, however it would mean he had no memory of any dealing with this demon other than having seen it. It's possible that a deal struck with the demon would have led to amnesia or it was an unwilling side effect of something else.
Or, it could be that he was attacked or captured and escaped. He considering using his innate abilities to detect whether this man was evil or not, the only possible problem was that he still didn't remember what happened before seeing the demon, but something had scared the clerics and it was unlikely to be good.
"An interesting quest, what do you remember from when you first awoke? Did you have any equipment and do you remember you were? That would make a good starting point.
I do have a requirement if you wish me to aid you though. I wish to check you for signs of evil. It isn't invasive and it wouldn't hurt. It would just put a couple of my concerns at rest.
As for my companions, it is of course their choice."

" You will have my blade as your strenght...assuming Sh'rarn's inspection goes well,...I am very curious as to why your last thoughts that you can remember were of a demon" I was not sure of this man, although he seemed to give off a good feeling, the fact that he cant remember anything,but the face of a demon only leads me to believe that there is more here than what he is telling us. Unfortunatly he can not tell us due to his loss of memory, I however will not let my guard down until I am certain of his past...

*Ravager, I didn't include the result yet, but if you are going to use the skill, just put it in the next post, and do the needed rolls, then I'll post what you sense.*

"About that investigation, go ahead, I don't know anything bad you oculd find. And, my memories of hte awakening are quite foggy due the healing clerics gave me. The told that I was wearing torned clothes and armor, when I was found in nearby hills. These equipment" -Sterwick points his armor and weapons- "were given to me by clerics, who also taught me a bit of skills needed to stay unnoticed. And you, half-elf" -Sterwick looks to Sesshomaru- "I thank for your offer."

"Demon? Hmm, sounds interesting. And what is it that scared those clerics? Probably i should approach them to offer my assistance? Halgrath ponders his next move. The one who identifies himself as Sh'arn seems to be the leader of the group, and yet his voice does sound familiar...

Halgrath was certain he hadn't known any of these adventures before. Not likely since he had spent all his time in the temple of Lathander after leaving Icewind Dale. The strange arrangement the Order made for him with a bunch of cultist in Baldur's Gate has secure him passage on a ship bound to Isthar.

...and it's most likely that this Sh'arn was the stranger Halgrath has spent the night talking to on board the ship. Or, Halgrath was the 'stranger' as he never took off his hooded robe to reveal himself to Sh'arn. As he does not wish to reveal how the Order has ties with the cultist, he kept that part to himself. Halgrath remembers Sh'arn as a likeable, honest paladin of the Red Knight who wish to do some adventuring in Isthar along with his party members.

"Ah, he never did mentioned a healer in the party...perhaps I could fit in?....

Still in his thought, Halgrath didn't pay much attention to one member of the party leaving his seat in the table...

"Hmmm a demon sounds interesting, but do demons horde gold?" he asked angrily "i do not wish to help you, but since there is at least some prospect of gold i may aswell" He paused for a moment and then refilled his cup of spirits.

"Sh'rarn do you trust this man? for all we know he could be leading us into a trap who knows what could be waiting for us."

He folded his arms and sat impatiently before escaping the heavy atmosphere of the room for a toilet break

Turning to the sitting dwarf he said, "Kazar, this is why I propose using my divine abilities to see whether this man is evil or not. Granted it will not reveal his trustworthiness or his past, but it still provides valuable information."

(AFAIK, there are no rolls I need to take. Concentration shouldn't apply out of combat and there aren't any saving throws)

Sh'rarn waited to see what the spell would reveal.

The human turned back to listen in to Kron's party. Wasting no time, Kron jumped to his feet and withdrew his dagger. Stealthily walking up to the man, he slipped his dagger under the neck as soon as he was in range. "Speak now eavesdropper or face the wrath of my blade." This person could easily be harmless, however he was listening quite intently, more so than the average person. It was better to be safe than sorry.

*Yepi, is it possible that you change the color of your text? I was kinda reserving red for rule-info and dark green for OOC discussion, so I would be very pleased if none use those colors as normal text.*

The result is: "For some unknown reason, you are not able to get anything out from Sterwick. As if something was blocking the spell to work properly

"I can not promise anything, but what I can gather from the teachings of clerics, surely there is at least something valuable near demons. But as I said, I cannot promise anything."
Sterwick looks Sh'rarn:
"So, what did you sense?"

Sh'rarn frowned and lowered his holy symbol. "I sensed nothing. Absolutely nothing, as if the spell failed to complete or work properly...or it was blocked by something. Or someone.
Well, I would have preferred to see some result out of that, but my interest is piqued. I will aid you, but I shall be watchful for any signs of betrayal or evil. Hopefully, we can find whoever has done this to you and if the cause of demonic, bring a swift end to it."

Feeling the point of the dagger pressed against his neck, Halgrath knew he has to try to make a good impression...and an honest one! Silently cursing at his carelessness, he nevertheless remained calm as such danger wasn't new to him.

"Greetings friend. This may look akward but I certainly mean no harm. I am an adventurer myself, and my curiosity certainly got the better of me after seeing this Sterwick fellow approach your company"

Sesshomaru pulled out his blade and held it toward the mysterious stranger whom was eavesdropping on their conversation. As the other member confronted him it seems he didn't bring us anyharm. "What is it stranger? Why do you appear before us like this? Speak...."

"Is that right. Well perhaps we should talk to Sh'rarn about you. I do not believe you are looking to harm us, but I am sure our fellow paladin could decide that best." Lifting him to his feet, Kron motioned for Sess to help lead him over to Sh'rarn. "Sh'rarn, it seems that we have a possible candidate for our group, what do you think?"
