Hi there,
I am trying to play a monk character now. I initially created a fighter character and then multiclassed him (after lvl 4 fighter) to monk. Now my question is why does this character move slow, I mean not slow but not as fast as a monk is suppose to move. Is it because of the multiclass issue?
Thank-you
Monk moves utterly slow, why ?

Life is short... play more...!

Monks gain their first speed "bonus" when they reach level three. If your character isn'y yat a level 4 fighter 3 monk it won't yet recieve the skill bonus. Multi-class or not it won't make a difference.
Otherwise your character could be wearing armour and/or carrying a shield, which would negate its natural speed, it could be encumbered or under the effects of a slow spell.
Just out of interest why a fighter/monk ?

Solo monk is better. The slightly worse BAB is offset by the increased rate of attacks/round. Monks also get very good level-based class benefits. There's no reason to take fighter, because monks don't need any feats for melee weapons.
I've also heard that taking levels in other classes can screw up the monk's att/round progression.
The only time I'd take non-monk levels in a primarily monk character is if I was doing HoF and getting over 20 levels on the character.
Bear in mind that monks face significant multiclassing restrictions; there are only three classes you can multiclass into and still retain the ability to advance as a monk.

I was reading the "feat guide" from Gamefaqs.com and their was mentioned this MC for monk. Seemed interesting enough to try it. I never played monk before. Maybe I will go for the solo-monk option next time.
was your decision based on the section about weapon speciliaztion?
If it was it doesn't really apply to monks as they don't generally use weapons.
Be aware that the people who write these guides are only human and so can make mistakes. I read one stating the potential of a duergar fighter/paladin let just say a Deep Gnome sorcerer would have been more use.
