@Yepi, there should be better opportunities for more people to join in the dialogue soon. :)

@darkwolf, I'll have a look at your possible skills in the morning. Sorry about the delay...

These are the Cleric class skills:
Concentration (Con)
Craft (Int)
Diplomacy (Cha)
Heal (Wis)
Knowledge (arcana) (Int)
Knowledge (history) (Int)
Knowledge (religion) (Int)
Knowledge (the planes) (Int)
Profession (Wis)
Spellcraft (Int).

You have 8 skill points- (2+ Int modifier[0 for you])x4
I'd recommend you focus on Concentration, Heal and Spellcraft.
For the stat in brackets next to the skill you add the modifier bonus from your stats, e.g. anything with INT next to it wouldn't get a bonus as your character's INT doesn't have a bonus. Whereas anything with WIS next to it would have 3 points added to it.
I can calculate the bonuses if you want though.

@slade, the weapon damage roll has your STR modifier added to it, I believe. 2d6+3 in your case.

If anyone wants me to look at their To Hit and Damage rolls, I'm happy to look into it...

The game-thread is open!!
So, you have time till Sunday evening 6 pm (GMT+2, we are moving back to GMT+2 in night between Saturday and Sunday, so you have 49 hours instead of 48 hours ;) )
So, please start posting you reactions.
So how do we start the game Kipi? And what must we know

Basically, now you have 48 hours time to post how you will react to game-thread. But just one post, after I've seen that everybody has posted or time is up, I'll post again and so on.

In quick look, it looks alrightt. But I'll return to it after I'm back from basketball-game. :)

In the mean while, you can always check the dialogue-thread, and see how it works there to get more hints :)

Thank you very much Ravager. It really helps, since things like Knowledge, Profession & Craft i do not know them. But i'll take your suggestion. So:

Concentration 4 (+2 CON)
Heal 2 (+3 WIS)
Spellcraft 2

I was sick the past three days, so i didn't get to do anything. But i've seen the starting thread so I will post there...

edit: Kipi, since i have never posted in the inter-chracter dialog (and i guess too late to do so), can i say that my char Halgrath has never meet any of the other NPC? And that he travels own his own due to a mission given to him by his mentor in the Order of Lathander?

edit2: How to add line to change to colour of the post? I tried [BLUE]... [/BLUE] but it doesn't work? FOr some strange reason i can't click on the font thing...and to pm i have to wait every 60 sec? <igh>

edit3: Ok, no need for above edit2, Ravager rescued me from a most embaressing situation :)

Well, as far as I know, it's not too late to post in the dialogue-thread. It's ok to me that you continue to form the past in that thread, so IMO you can still meet others in that thread. And it would be very good if you can do that, since the game kinda demands that you know eachother at least just before Sterwick arrives...

Not always. Random occurances and the like are usually how players meet in many games. Rarely do I play a game where I had attatchments to the other players characters.

However, this is Kipi's, and the klnowing of other characters always makes it easier on the DM. Since this is your first time, I would reccommend that you try to have history between the players. Creating dynamic story lines takes a while, and those sort of help. Of course, you can always have a cast off...

Well, my comment of the day. :)

Ok, you would know best so I'll spend time reading the rest of the dialog thread (i've only read page 1 & 2), and figure out at what point my character meets the other NPC.

..does this mean I have to edit again my post in the game thread? Or it can stand as it is and i take note of it when i post in the dialog thread?

Your post in the game thread should be able to stay the same, unless you write anything for the dialogue that would cause a dramatic change.

As for that thread, I'm not sure how you could introduce your character. The dialogue's a little behind the campaign at the moment, though I think the next step is travelling to Sterenear and the stating point of the campaign.
It's possible that your character could meet ours on the ship.

Yes, that's true. Also, it can always be that you spend a little time in the island before you meet Sterwick. But that's up to you.

Ok. I've just finished going through the whole dialog thread. I do feel bad cos all this while i didn't look up for that thread. I don't think i've got all the details, but at least i know the flow of it...some interesting stuff and all creating a nice background story :)

I'll try to think of somewhere/somepoint to post how my char made it to Baldur's Gate...i don't have any clear idead a.t.m. too...
Will post again Wed, or Thurs....

As a DM of this game, it falls to me to make this unhappy task to deny your participiate, at least for now.
Please, do not take this message as offense, because it's not meant such in any way.

First of all, if you had read this thread carefully through, you would have noticed that some pages ago I already denied on person to enter this game, the reason for this was that our game is full. At the moment, we are currently having over 6 players, plus NPC controlled by me. This fact could also been noticed by checking the character-sheet -thread.

Also, as you surely noticed, our game has already started, even though it's not going in full speed yet. Because of this, I'm not taking new players as easily, because at the current moment it just doesn't fit to take new players, since that would delay, even temporarily stop, the campaign for the time it takes to get your character ready and posted to character-sheet thread. Also, it seems that we are even going to have problems to introduce those players to the game who had joined soon enough, since some players already had started the "semi-game" in dialogue-thread. Those who didn't manage to post there before the game itself begun, are having problems to find the way how they could be introduced to the party BEFORE the game actually happened. Also, that has made some problems how should characters react to eachothers, since he "common history" has not yet developed fully.

This all can be seen if spend a moment to actually read what has been posted here + other threads. And actually (this is going to be the only thing made me to wonder and actually gave me a bit irritated feeling, please forgive me that) your "joining" was a bit strange, since the game has already begun. You posted like it was really obvious that you are going to be part of this game, which apparently didn't happen. But the reasons why that happened don't have anything to do with that, the reasons are the ones described in the two sections above.

But, I'll add you name to the list of possible players IF there comes a situation when allowing new player to join is good alternative, in fact best alternative, and it can be done easily enough. As the DM of this game, and also as the writter of the whole story, I know there won't be many such situations when importing new player would be painless enough to actually make it possible.

So, I'm sorry that I can not allow you to join this campaign at the moment. Please don't take this as an offense, and there is nothing personal behind this decision.

Kipi
The DM of the campaign

EDIT: I have to apologize, I just found the post where you told your interest in joining :o
But, as you didn't post after it, and there were no way I could have been sure you were actually going to join, I kinda forgot your post. But still, I'm sorry that I have to deby your joining, for the reason of being full.

i started reading this thread by accident this morning before an exam, and read the later half after i came back. (i was a bit sad at the fact that i found this thread days after the game got started)
I was wondering if i could be added to the waiting list to get in game¿
Not sure if the waiting list is a polite way to say "no", but you never know when you might need another character.

Anyway been playing 3.5 for a couple of months with friends, and im familiar with 90% of rules, although we ussualy play point buy system for stats (28/32) but i can roll for stats as well. I'm kinda lacking in the RP department (not much RP with friends), so this looked like a great way to try it out.

Well i'm definately going to keep a track of this campaign, and if you ever need any new character dont hesitate to PM me or just post about it here

I am not actually a member of this, but I can see why you would want to join.

The game currently going on is actually run by a first time DM and some newer palyers to the gaming system, among them Ravager, and Slade. I do not know about Darkwolf or Kythras, however...

Waiting lists do not exist. Basically, if a new game pops up, you play it. Unfortunately, as with Sononara, you were too late. The game has started...

Other games sometimes allow for more players to be added on, as players comlete some quests. However, being a first time DM, this could get very confusing for Kipi, and most times DMs do not like new players joining in late on the action. The game is pretty full as it is, with players from Malaysia, Australia, the UK and Finland.

However, given the obverwhelming popularity that Kipi's game has achieved, it may be a good idea for some of the members to cinsider starting another side quest for two newer members. Although this would make a lot of extra work for Kipi. Considering the amount of schoolwork placed on him, I do not know if this is a good idea.... however, it may need to be discussed, and have some of the players join up in the future, in one thread.

Most of the people also playing this game had the original start with D&D type of games from Comnputer games, such as KotOR. Currently a lot are learning the differences between the augmented system and the one applied in basic games. Of course, each person has his own way of playing the game, and in this case, the DM rules all. ;)

Magrus, a member that was going to make sure that the game flies straight (still have not read that thread yet) is currently unable to access the internet, adding another layer of problems to the game. Also, the other characters in this game have 'interacted' through the dialouge thread, in which it is now pointless to post in if you are not a member of the current game. Hopefully, Kipi will have the time for another thrad, but I don't know...

Anyways, I am sure that Kipi will be happy with the amount of popularity that this game is getting. A few more people may not take long to ask to join. It is somewhat likely that another game will be spawned rather soon. :)

Hopefully that answered anything you wanted to know, but if it did not, well feel free to post here... I may be able to help (I lurk sometimes) but Kipi is really the one who knows all for this game. :D
