Drow Items

Post by Armand121 »

Are there any drow items which will work outside of the underdark? On a similar drow note...Is there any way to use shadowkeeper to speed up the romance between my pc and Viconia?

Before you leave the underdark, give all drow equipment you want to keep to on character, drop he/she from the party, send them to the Copper Corenet, exit underdark. when you pick the character back up, you will be able to use the drow equipment. The game only checks each time you enter or leave the underdark.

This is a bug fixed by Baldurdash. :) Only items made of ademantite (sp?) and are drow cannot leave the underdark. Items you can buy (like Firetooth dagger +3 and Sentinal Shield) won't be destroyed.

About Viconia's romance, go to the Global section and change ViconiaRomance to 1, load the game and you'll get the next dialogue. Save it, open Shadow Keeper again and change ViconiaRomance to 1 again, load the save game and you'll get the next dialogue. Save and repeat.

As you can see this takes a long longer than using CLUAConsole, where you can keep on changing the global to 1 using CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("ViconiaRomance","GLOBAL",1) without the constant saving and loading.

The Gorgon plate is the only drow equipment you legally can wear when not in the Underdark. But it also says in the armors description
I wager the turnip market is making a killing today!

Drow Armor outside Underdark

I thought it's a bug too while I was reading some of the ways people have found of clinging on to the Drow armor.

It is tempting ... But I could not try it .. firstly I do not know how to drop off someone from the party when there is no one else around to switch with ...

Like I could drop say Mazzy in the Underdark and she could be loaded with all the armor .. but who do I switch her with ... How do you drop a character without switching. I tried initiating talk with my team .. But they never respond :(

To drop a party member go to any characters profile screen, click on re-form party then click on the character you want to remove.

i have found that clua-ing in drow and then picking up their armour when you have kiled them works.
The armour didn't disintergrate until i went into the pocket plain for some reason.

The Drow items only get destroy by certain area scripts - there's nothing on the items themselves to destroy them if you're in sunlight. So if you're in an area that doesn't have script to check whether you have Drow things, then you can use it - can't remember which area have that check, but there are only a few.

Drow in moonlight

I think they should specify that Drow Equipment .. degenerates above ground .. Because I came out in total night time .. maybe there was or was not a moon (reflected sunlight) ... it still degenerated

So it's got nothing to do with sunlight ...

Well, it wouldn't be able to withstand sunlight in the actual Forgotten Realms. Drow armor and such works fine at night when they have their raiding parties to out. But this is another place where the game just doesn't go along with the PnP version of DND :)

Besides the Gorgon Plate, there's a sweet shield you can pick up as well. You'll know it when you pick it up. 'Nuff said. :)

Should be the area where you get out from Underdark and the one where you encounter Drizt.
And in ToB as long as the new game starts the Drow items get destrojed.
Not all the NPC are able to exit by themselves from underdark and reach CC if kicked out of party.
I know that Imoen does and Minsc not.
