Starting a Multi-Player Game

Post by Lakota »

I don't quite understand how to start a multi-player game with all control assigned to yourself.

Its quite possible there is something about this subject on the website but I've been unable to find it. I would appreciate any assistance on the subject.

Instead of single player, select multiplayer. Choose your connection, and create a new game. Control of all the players by default is given to you. Click on the character button to select your characters. I usually pregenerate my characters and import them.

Also... if your the only one controlling the characters and don't want to mess around with the character arbitration every load, (you'll see what I mean) you can go into your msave file and cut and paste it to your regular save file. You can then get to it through the single player way as normal.

Sorry, I was kinda assuming you knew some of the jargon...
But why dont you at least try and go through the steps? It's pretty basic.
1. Run BG2
2. Push play
3. Click on the Multi-player icon
4. Click connect
5. Select Your connection.
6. Click Create game
7. Enter a username
8. Select New game
9. You'll find a bunch of boxes with checks next to them. Don't touch the ones with your username in them.
10. Select a box that has a Create character- upper left box first
11. Create a character. This is where you can import a premade character by selecting the Import button. Once done, click Accept.
12. Find and fill as many of these boxes that you need.
13. Click the checkmarks by the boxes.
14. Press the Done button next to the logout button at the bottom of the page.
And.... Viola.

Now, unless we're dealing with a language barrier and I'm making an ass of myself, you shouldn't have any problems starting a multiplayer game with all of the characters controlled by you.
