i want to make my PC character look like a picture i've saved on my computer. It'll be so effing hilarious if I can figure out how to do it. Anybody out there who can clue me in?
@Elrohir: You have to make a directory called 'portraits' in the BG directory. Put your portraits there. Then you can choose them in-game under the 'custom portraits' section.
Keep in mind that there are several restrictions. Your portrait pictures have to be bmp-files (although it's real easy to change jpg-files into bmp-files) and they cannot exceed certain sizes.
Do a Google on 'Baldur's Gate portraits' and you'll still be able to find many custom made portraits.

One exceptional example is Irfanview, which is freeware. You can pick it up at http://www.irfanview.com
