i think i have found the shady tree but dont know what to do there 
go to knothole glade, go down to where you fought the white balverineand by the side of the winding path on a slope is a small indent opposite the lake wich is sometimes in shaddow, this could be it the riddle does reffer to timing being key so you might have to do something just as its in shaddow, just a thought

Two I think you might be right about the location, but in that case look for a large tree branch, because it says something about a bough. Also the phrase not him nor her but us is confusing me. I think it refers to the two statues in memorial garden. And lastly the tent is mentioned to be somewhere south, so its either twinblades tent or the one in barrow fields (once again, i think). Keep posting updates i think we might get it eventually. Oh and it does mention something about the shadowy tree near "the glade."

I would like to apologize to anyone whos hopes i got up. The riddle i posted is in fact a fake by someone who had way to much time on his hands, and who speaks only in tongues. Im not saying there isnt a way to get the singing sword, as Peter M said there was, im saying that this isnt it. Once again i am behind the rest of the world.
