first main quest, first problem

I'm just beggining morrowind, and I'm realy surprised. I didn't trust in 3D RPGs, because I think that the 3D engine kills some of the spirit of these games. I'm a fan of Baldur's Gate games. A friend told me to try Morrowind , and I found a really cheap pack (Morrowind +Tribunal + BloodMoon 10€(8.5$)). Now I can't stop playing!!!.
My character is a Battlemage, and I'm trying to get the Dwemer Puzzle Box. I went deeper and deeper in the dungeon without finding the damn Puzzle. I have reached a room with several floors, full of water , and I only can get to the first floor. As I can't advance, If I return the same way, I find a creature called spider centurion (I don't know if this is the correct name, in Spanish is Centurion Araña) that shoots me load of poison and kills me, no matter what I do. I try my scrolls of divine intervention (I don't know again if it's the right name, in Spanish is Intevencion Divina), but it does not work.

¿What Can I do?

First, you are too far for the box, it's on second level in entry hall (one you should have met and killed two men) - above that row of tree doors, either levitate or climb those stones, you could find the way there. There should be Dwarven cabinet and a door, the box is on the shelf behind that door (there's one in the room supposed to be the toughtest of humans here, so be warry).
Have you Levitate spell? None of those Dwemer things could fly. Neither they, save but Dwemer Ghost, have a ranged attack. Or perhaps Invisibility (guessing by what you've said i'd rather you do not have strong enough Chameleon). In worst case - have you Water Walking spell? You could lure that spider into water. Not that he could be drowned, but you could try to outrun him on the surface (it's fast enogh, though). Could you pester it with spells or missiles avoiding close contact?

I'll try to run FAST!!!

I don't have levitate, chamaleon. Im a level 3 BattleMage, with fireballs, firebite,hands of Father,Summon Ancestor. The others spells are useless for fight. I have killed anothers spider centurions with my Axe, but these didn'nt shoots poison. I will try an evasive action but I think It won´t be easy.
One more thing, you do know why my scrolls of Divine Intevertion doesn't work here?

First, are you using the scrolls in right way? They are just as spells - select them in the spell list in iventory mode, close, take spellcastin stance ("R" on PC) and cast. Newerwinterist's (true for vets of other games, too) first impulse is to drag the scroll onto paperdoll, i know, so just to be on the safe side i had to say this

Try lauch Ancestor Ghost to engage the spider and fly away while they are busy. 3rd level isn't meant to come down here - or a player should be most experienced and his char properly equiped.

I got the puzzle. My evasive action was succesfull. Thanks for your help. About the scrolls, yes I'm using it the rigth way. Simply when I cast the spell, the message "nothing" appears in the screen.
Well I'll try it again in Balmora.
