What does it do?
Does it crash to the desktop or freeze up for example?

Also what are your computer specs?
Those might help us to discover what is the problem.

icewind dale 2 needs a graphics card that supports directx 8. are you sure that a geforce 2 card supports this? if it does, have you updated your drivers?

if it supports directx 9 then its fine. i would try updating the drivers though to see if it helps. also, have you tried reinstalling the game just in case it was a bad install?

Make sure you have all the latest official patches for it. If you installed any mods uninstall them and see if that works. Make sure all of your drivers are up to date. Reinstall and see if that works. Make sure the game is properly setup, that you have the right resolution etc.

Actually, I'd recommend something that seems a little unorthodox. Roll back your graphics card drivers several versions. Sometimes the Icewind Dale games work better with older graphics drivers (56.72 is the best I beleive - just make sure that the version is compatible with your card).
