BG series vs. IWD series

From what I've read... its obvious the BG series blows the IWD series away. Though I still have my opinion on the matter, being a master of all the games.

I beleive the BG series *is* better, though mainly because of the story. But all in all, I believe they were both good. (though the IWD series was a bit easy to beat alone...)

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the point about the dolls, I think the elf is ugly and since I almost always choose elf/half elf I am a little upset. I like BG2 more because: more classes to choose from, more specializations (you must choose carefully, real adventurers dont use axes for some of their journey and then just ditch it for the next weapon to come along), better/more spells (beautiful graphics and effects for the spells, plus being able to sit with a high level mage and tank an entire high level NPC party is an adrenaline rush unsurpassable), better story and quests/quest stories are actually believable plus fun to complete instead of do this and return it to him, better monsters (silly monsters? I see not what you are talking about, finally seeing a dragon and a high level lich casting powerful spells at you while you struggle for your life to defeat it is excellent and the high point of my BG2 experience.)

Liches/dragons being super powerful in BG2: what do you think? You just run into a dragons lair at level 9 and expect to beat it without a sweat? The greatness of the new monsters is one of my favorite parts of BG2. Once I am able to get ToB installed, I will max my F/M/T out and solo the dragons, liches, and all other mages without outside cheese (ie. the protection from undead or magic. That really takes the fun out of the fights.) All in all I think BG is WAY better than IWD mainly because I've never played IWD for long as it was no way near as captivating as BG.

IWD<BG<BG2 That sums it up for the games I like.

Guys, the person who asked this question did so in 2001. The thread stopped back then, and he's long since vanished. There's no reason to bring this up, now.

BG1>BG2>IWD>IWD2

BG1 and BG2 are so close, but IMO BG1 gets the edge (best story I've ever seen in a cRPG, but I hear PS:T is even better).
