General Question on tombs
There are many tombs through out the map (XBOX) Are they all associated with a quest or can I explorer some of them without causing a problem?

You should be able to explore most of them without a problem. As a general rule of thumb, just don't attack any humanoid or beast-race NPCs if they don't attack you first. (monsters, ghosts and daedra are free game)
The only real hitch I can see, potentially, is if you kill any vampires... Since, if you want to become a vampire there will be quests. I'm not sure if killing vampires from a clan you end up 'joining' as a result of being bitten has any effect either, others here might know more.

Just do not kill named Vampires if you plan to become one - or check the walkthrough

As far as i know there are only 2 tombs where you can find the vampire HQ.So,if there are about...hundreds of tomb on Vanderfell then it isnt very likely to screw something up.However,if you might do that, then you will get a message(usualy).
Once i went to some tomb in the Ashlands.Kicked the daedra and aedra out of the way and finaly came to the final chamber. There was a crazed orc named Crazy-and something-.Easy to dispose him. Then suddenly, message appears."You have killed a vital NPC,restart your game or load the last save game".
So the bottom line is:You cant cause a Big problem in ancestral tombs, exept the one near the ashlands NE of Vivec.

Crazy Batou is not a part of any quests. You can kill him with no problem.

It's a bug, killing him brings up the message but does not actually break the main quest.

[/QUOTE] In fact there are 3 clans, and at least most of named Vampires belong to one of them (even unnamed do). Besides the HQ they have also "branch-offices", there may be either named and unnamed Vampires (on some occasions even both kinds), however a Vamp w/o name certainly won't play an important role in any quest, they - at least for most part - also respawn after certain time. A named Vampire won't return if killed and may have his place in some Vampire quest.

He's safe (to kill, i mean, though do not know what for). Probably he had been meant to be in the quest and then left out, but nobody cared or had lesure to remove the flag of importance for MQ or something like this.
