It depends on what you like. Strategically, IWD was more challenging than BG1 or 2, but the story was weaker and there was no NPC interraction. However, I played IWD through a few times, just to try out different character combinations. I started out with an all-short party (3 dwarves, 2 halflings, and a gnome). The party was definitely combat heavy with many tanks but only the gnome as a mage. After finishing that, I ran an all elven party. The difference between the two was amazing! The elven party was more finesse, definitely mage-heavy compared to the first one. While the story was almost identical as the first time through, the gameplay was vastly different. Since IWD is so combat intensive, just changing the makeup of your party can change the game. IWD doesn't focus on story like BG1 and 2, it focuses on combat and action. Change how you do combat, and you change the game.

Just do it:

1. If you're bored.
2. Just for the badness of it.
3. Try out different parties.

I never get tired of hacking my way through - the battles are different everytime ('specially with HoW and "Heart of Fury" mode  - ouch!)

I think some items appear randomly as well each time you play so that you wil always experience having different item combinations to screw around with.
I went through twice (once good, once evil) and I think going through again could become a little tedious *cough* Dragons tooth *cough* :D
Maybe in a couple of months though?
If this game had the class selection that BG2 has I would play through it almost constantly. Especially considering that you have to create all your party members.
You could have 6 monks or 6 Skalds or 6 Inquisitors or 6....... *continues to rant*
