New Character, please help :D

Post by Televolt »

Hello again guys.

My DM is creating a new campaing, and he asked me do create a level 3 character.

Well. I need ideas...

I was thinking about a non-spellcaster this time, since I aways play with a spellcaster guy.

I saw this miniature picture - Image - (which name is Catfolk Wilder) and I think I want a character like this. Two weapon fighting and stuffs, somone like a ninja but not a ninja you know?? I can't explaing exactly... :p I only know that the character I want is based on that miniature picture...

-------------

If you guys like or not the idea, please say something about it, and give others ideas too so I can make my new character...

Thank you all guys... ;)

for two weapon fighting you would either need a dex based fighter, a ranger or a special class I think. I believe the samurai class offers two weapon fighting too at some point.

If you want to go ninja type, that would (again) be either a special class, probably named ninja, or a ranger/rogue. In my opinion that is.

ranger for the weapons and some hide/spot/listen/MS etc, and the rogue for tumble/balance and other skills, the sneak attack and the trap sense. alternative, , a ranger/monk would have many the same skills plus a load of special abilities, not to mention being able to fight without weapons as well, which seems to be important to ninjas somehow. alternatively, taking the feat improved unarmed strike would grant that too.

Thats my bit for now, good luck

That would be a catfolk located in the Races of the Wild book.

It would be in the "other races" section.

well the other thread is using core rules as people don't have access to all the books, so if you want to, just change that to catfolk and modify the character accordingly.

well, check out the racial benefits and negatives. if fighter or rogue isn't their prefered class, you could be in trouble since the classes dont rise equaly, but i think you mentioned in another thread that it doesnt matter for xp penalties.

further, if the race has penalties which keep it from having the prequisite dex for two weapon fighting... well, thats a bummer. not likely since it will rather have a dex bonus (as a cat) than penalty, but still.

another thing might be that its race prohibit it from using armor or weapons you want. unlikely, but possible. The last objection is the human extra skill point and feat. Well, you just get the powerfull feats a bit slower and have either weaker skills or 1 skill less. nothing to worrie about

I think you should check the racial stats before asking the question

no problem with the dex. i dunno what the idea for armor was, should ask syb for that. There doesnt seem to be any reason to keep you from it

Ok...

Here are my characters abilities scores... take a look and say what you guys think of it. :D

STR = 15
DEX = 20*
CON = 10
INT = 17
WIS = 10
CHA = 12*

*Note that I didn't put the racial bonus in DEX and CHA. With the bonus the DEX is 24 and CHA is 14.

is this ok??

For a rogue/fighter, those are some really nice stats.

If I did it that way, you could get ten in most ability scores and 34 in the last one of your choice. It'd be literally insane.

I like the point buy system for a reason, you can't go past 18 (without racial stuff of).

It'd only be the same for the 4d6 and drop the lowest die system anyway... :p ;)

Wow. That's impressive. Is the Level Adjustment really the only downside to it? :eek:
I'm surprised there's no penalties to any of the other attributes...

If I remember right, I think that is the only downside to the catfolk.

*Double checks*

Yep yep.
