Continuing through ToTSC
Continuing through ToTSC
I just completed BG by killing Saravok and I have the expansion pack installed. I was under the impression you can continue on through the expansion with the same characters after beating BG. However, the missionpack save has different PCs. How do I use my current characters to start in the expansion pack? All the game did was save my character in Char1.char or something like that I believe, but the Final save or anything never carried over to the expansion pack save which is what I thought it would do.
The expansion pack adds new areas to the game which are accessible when you reach Chapter Five (the point where you are able to enter the city of Baldur's Gate). When you defeat Sarevok, the game is over, so you have to go to the new areas before you fight Sarevok.
I can't remember the purpose of the Mission Pack Save; I've never used it. I think all it does is give you some characters you can use in the new areas (Durlag's Tower, Ulgoth's Beard, etc.) if you don't want to replay the whole game and you don't have any saved games of your own.

My party is right at the point where the next step is to go to the Coronation ceremony. So do you mean that I go to the ceremony and then just don't follow him into the thieves guild maze? Storywise that would make more sense than keeping the coronation ceremony on hold for a few months! But I thought I was teleported in automatically after the battle at the palace?
Thanks,

You can do it either way but I agree with you makes more sense to mess up the corinatrion first just make sure you bring the proof that you should have obtained in the Iron Throne Building. I think you do teleport to the theifs guild but you still have to enter the the theifs warrens to chase S. You can still leave the warrens after entering.
Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL

I went to the coronation and when I was transported to the guild maze I just backed out and went to Ulgoth's Beard and Durlag's Tower. Once those areas were completed I then went back to the guild maze to finish the game.

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a person does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses their intelligence.

The purpose of the Mission pack save is to try out the new areas if you don't want to start a new game.[QUOTE=ishuman](minor spoilers...)

The TotSC expansion doesn't really "fit in" to to story at all. It's just some extra stuff to do.
Congrats if you beat Sarevok with this installed though, TotSC made him tougher to kill (to make up for the higher XP cap and more stuff you can find).
