Grand Gems and Golden Saints XBOX

Post by Hamburglar »

This is for XBOX.

I know that if you capture a Golden Saint you can make an enchanted item with constant effect (I made the face of inspiration +15 intelligence) My questions are these: Where can I find more Golden Saints? Where can I buy grand soul gems other than Mage's Guild in Balmora? Can smaller gems hold Golden Saints?

To find Golden Saints, you need to visit Daedric Ruins or tombs inhabited by daedra. Beran AT and Arano AT south of Tel Branora are my favorite hunting spots for Saints. As you gain in level, you will be more likely to find them out in the open.

Grand soul gems are found in bandit caves, and you will find more if you are high level. In fact, they may be hard to find at all at low level.

I seem to remember a merchant on the lower level of the canton at Molag Mar that has one. Not certain of this.

There is a quest where you kill some rats for an enchanter in the Telvanni canton in Vivec, and the reward is a grand soul gem. But installing the expansions breaks this quest.

No, small gems can't hold Saints.

i found a whole bunch of grand gems at below level 10 - although i only survived the fights to get them by the skin of my teeth and using a lot of summoning spells - i found quite a few in the caves in the marshes around Hla Oad. There are even a couple of summon saint scrolls in those caves (at least they were in my game, but not sure if they were random things) - thats what i used to make my current 2 constant effect items (killing the things was hard work though lol)

you can also make constant effect items from grand soul gems containing ascended sleepers

If you wander around the grazeland region you can find some golden saints. For grand soul gems I usually just go into bandit caves and look in all the containers.
You can have my Xbox, when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

Once you are high enough level... I suggest you go into the Red Mountain area. The souls of Ascended Sleepers also make constant effect items.

Additionally - once your luck >= 50, you are much more likely to find grand soul gems in smuggler hideouts, tombs, ''dungeons", etc.
The higher your luck the better...

Yes, luck is an excellent factor in all sorts of things. Using Drain Luck on an opponent can make even a very powerful warrior fail to strike you every time. And your luck has a tremendous effect on the contents of chests.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
