The colour of the crystals you get is random so there is no set place where you will get a silver crystal, although every time I have played I have been able to buy one on Nar Shaddaa (from the trader that wants you to set up trade routes to Dantooine and Onderon).

I also usually get one in the storage room in the palace on Onderon. You need a really high security level to get into the container. Once in a while, I get one off of Sion too.

Spoilers so highlight:
Spoiler
On Nar Shaddaa (in the central area) there are two rodian traders that are competing with each other. The male one asks you to chase the female one away but if you end up siding with her she will give you access to her inventory plus quests and she always has a silver crystal for me

Have you completed both Dantooine and Onderon stabilzation mission? (Spoilers, so please highlight)
Spoiler
Once both these planets are completed, there is a posibility of getting a silver crystal from that trader, Geeda.
Hope this clear things up a little.

Answer: It is impossible to know where such a crystal is. You see, KOTOR I and II have a random engine. Whenever a box or container is opened the item you find is always random.

Apology: You will not be able to know where to find one. I am afraid you will just have to keep opening up those containers... I'm sure one will come up... eventually.

Answer: On Nar Shadaa there are two merchants, Geeda and Oondar. If you talk to Oondar he will complain about a Not-male Rodian. Ask him why there is no line and he will tell you about Geeda after that, choose the dialogue option about her. If you help him he will give you a discount. Talk to Geeda about Oondar and she will give you a discount. Talk to Oondar and he will threaten you. Tell Geeda about the deal, and she will say you have to choose between Oondar or herself. Side with her and ask about opening trade routes. She will tell you that she can trade with Dantooine and Onderon if you resolve the situiations on them. Complete Dantooine then talk to her about opening trade routes then about Dantooine. She will have more items to sell, including a Silver Lightsaber.

Only KOTOR 2 have the random item engine. In KOTOR 1, every item you come across is set and does not change when you reload the last save.

Er, HK-64, could you please black out your spoiler sentence? A moderator might come take a visit if you're not careful about spoiler information. Thanks :) .

Statement: Yes... The random engine in KOTOR II can sometimes be 'very' irritating...

Recommendation: But as I said before, open as many boxes and containers you can. Eventually you will strike gold.

Irrated Statement: I do not know HK-64 personally.

Query: What gave you that impression? We are nothing alike.

Observation: He is nothing like me. He does not have the silver shell and talks completely different than I.

Confused Query: You can't tell me you haven't noticed? He's completely different from me, we are not alike what-so-ever.

Irritated Statement: Let's just focus on the topic from now on.

I also use the crystal that u find in the cave on dantooine that is attached to you

I have not played this game as much as the first but that is the best i have found combined with good powers cells .etc i get a pretty nice light saber

By the way, Greg, where did you get that Ankarres Sapphire and the Barrab Ore Ingot? I never come across those crystals unless I must have probably overlooked them while playing the game.

Random drops. They are more common on replays and when you are high level.

Where can I get "Blank" color? Where can I get "Blank" crystal? You have stumbled along the most mused question about this game.... certian colored cyrstal or upgrade. I have been through this game about 15 times now & quite honestly, it's a crapshoot. Outside of merchants, your best bet is dead enemy's. I found a silver on a Dux Cannok 1 game, then nothing the next.

Greg is correct by stating the more times through the game the more exotic the items (in my opinion). You should see the rifles Mandalor & HK both carry on my 16th go at it.

Only other thing to say is there is a save game editor avaliable that lets you add items to your inventory. I found it very useful at times. You can find it here: http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php

Note that does not let you modify items, but you need no other download to run it. Very nice layout & easy to use. Just save your game, then save again as a new game (I usually call it "Hack this"). That way if something does not work right you still have the original save. Some objects / changes are not compatable & will crash the game, but you only find them after saving changes (nerts!)
