Worthless Stuff?

Post by TheHellion »

I've got a few items that I'm unsure what to do with, or even if there is anything I can do with them. Namely, the amateur paintings of a troll, illithid, umber hulk, and djinni, as well as several mithril tokens. Is there a use for any of these?

Very useful, for you can buy a second pair of boots of speed with them.

Are they the Faerun equivalent of Nike Pumps?

That's like comparing a hamburger to McNuggets. Boot of speed is simply just out of Nike pumps league. They have everything ventilation, shock absorbing thing (SAT), build in Swiss knife, self-tying shoelaces system (SSS), bad smell remover (you just have to love that), intern jet pipes, anti-fall, resistance to holes and it's the hottest thing in Athkatla right now.

And don't forget the built-in Adrenalin-Injector for that nice extra 1/2 attack!

I've never used the boots of speed - unless I'm going solo. I'd rather take the boots of grounding or avoidance(sp?)

Sure you can live without but they will save you a buttload of time and when you attack you are hasted all the time. if you are exiting a place where is says:"You must gather your party before...." (I'm sure you know the rest fare too well) it doesn't matter but what I mean is that it is a very nice luxury to have.

Are you hasted? Do they give an extra 1/2 atack? You get a little haste icon whilst wearing them but I though it just increased your move speed?

He swings faster perhaps that just makes it look like it but I thought that they worked just as the haste spell also since you get the haste icon on your PC or NPC.
anyone know for sure????

The boots description only refers to movement speed. I haven't noticed any increased speed in attacks but it may happen.

The boots also increase your attacks by 1/2. Check your character sheet.

It's not a 'real' haste though, for the haste spell would give +1 attacks. But it's surely one of the best items i the game.
