Trouble with final TG quest (spoiler)
Trouble with final TG quest (spoiler)
Close to the end of the TG quests (finished the Boots of Springheel Jak), have done independent theiving way past 1000 GP (actually up to about 4K), but the Grey Fox still hasn't contacted me. I checked the TG walkthru and I've hung around the Market District for weeks, but Amusei never shows up. I think the problem is that my new fence is Fathis Ules, but he won't talk to me because he's still pissed that I turned the Honorblade over to the herald at Chorrol Castle instead of giving it to him when I did the Sins of the Father quest. I used every Personality buff at my disposal and cast a mega-charm for good measure, but still no go. So, a couple questions. Will the Ultimate Heist ever unlock if I keep using Orrin as my fence? I think I know the answer already, and assuming it's "no", is there any way to get Fathis to talk to me again?
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

When in doubt, Bribe, Bribe, Bribe. No amount of charm will get you to where Money will.

I never touched Fathis Ules my first run through the guild SPOILER Fathis wont talk to you again no matter how you finish that quest.
Did you ask the Gray fox about knowing springheel jak? If so, thats where your glitch is, asking that question terminates the entire Theives Guild questline.

Yep, that's it. I assume this is a bug, not part of the storyline. I mean, I could understand if the Gray Fox got paranoid and severed ties or had me killed for discovering his big secret, but he actually seemed kind of relieved to get it off his chest and then gave me the whole spiel about doing more research and needing me later for one last task. Sooo... while I never use a cheat to get around an puzzle I can play through, if this really is a bug is there a fix for it?

Perhaps a more specific question is in order. Can I use the console command player.setstage to get past the Gray Fox glitch at the end of the Boots of Springheel Jak quest? Either to finish that one or start the next one? If so, does anybody know the Quest ID and stage number?
Can the answer to this question be "No"?
?
Well, probably it's too late, but it might help others..
player.setstage 00036338 10
Well, i'm stuck because i havent got an independent thievery message telling me to fence 1000 yet, soooo, if you could tell me what that number does, how to use it, and whichever one works for this, then that would be great.

This is a code for pc, and you're playing on xbox 360 , so I'm afraid it is useless for you.
If you havn't got any message telling you to fence 1000, then waiting for Amusei in the Imperial city won't help you.
As I remember, I got the message right after talking with Gray Fox..
I can give you a few suggestions, but I can't promise they'll work:
A. Try to go back to Gandredhel’s house in Cheydinhal (where you saw Gray Fox for the last time- fix me if i'm wrong), and just wait there, or do something. I had a similar problem in other quest, and after I came back to the last place I was - I got the message.
B. Maybe talking with your fence, Fathis Ules, will help you with getting this message.
C. You wrote that you have fenced more than 1000 , but still, try to sell more stolen items, maybe that'll do the trick.
