Had my fill of NPCs getting in the way

Post by martswiz »

First time through and playing as a Blade Mage (or Rage Mage as I prefer) but how do you stop NPCs who are in the plot from getting in the way?

Now Arch Mage and Fighter's Guild Master (got to those before the Kvatch section of the main quest) so much more powerful (level 35) than most NPCS.

They get in the way - have tried to Paralyze them before going through doors but the buggers appear on the other side and then inappropritely attack - accidently killed more than I've saved. :(

Try to pre-clear quests/areas where I know I have someone in tow but this is not always possible.

Any ideas as to how I can get them to sit down and stay out the bloody way so that I can get on and solve the quest then go back and get them for the denoument?

Some NPCs directly involved with a quest will have a dialog option to "Wait Here" or something similar. Haven't found any other way to put then in "protective custody".
Can the answer to this question be "No"?
