Umm, don't you think its too early to criticise the decision by Lionhead to implement guns in Fable 2? I mean we have yet to see how it works in terms of the gameplay aspect. I will only make a decision when I see the gameplay demonstration of Fable 2. Period. :)

I get it. ;) First time someone ever addressed me as, 'Sir, yes Sir!'

Anyway, back on topic. It could be possible that the guns will contain some augment slots or upgrades like scopes or what not to make gun fighting more solid. Since its in the 16th or 17th century, muskets or single-shot rifles will be the norm there so if there is a way to reload a musket at the same pace as using a bow, it would be worth using guns in Fable 2.

I think they are going to use the old gunpowder rifles used by napoleon bonnaparte in his war.... What would B cool if u would just start with a bow and as the timeline procedes Gun's will get availeble for purchase that would be cool..and MayB theyll make it avaible to have children to.. Ill have my son carry a six gun.. :D

I'm not sure if I want guns, it's hard to imagine but it depends on the other changes they make. It might kill the mood if someone is charging you with a katana and you adjust your finder... BOOM! headshot:laugh: .
But seriously I hope they've thought it through, after all ascaron entertainment put a gun to sacred underworld and I think it worked.

I don't think I'll mind as long as they stick with the slow firing rate and look of the archaic firearms like blunderbuss and the old pirate flintlocks... no M-16's or UZI's in my Fable2 please. I don't think the guns should shoot any faster than the crossbows did in F1. There's that whole reload thing to consider.. maybe your speed could increase the firing rate since you can reload faster, but no revolvers or full and semi-auto weapons please.. it would kinda kill the mythic atmosphere in Fable.

yeah...have them old powder guns....olskool style....i would really like it if they leave fable the way it was....swords and bows....but mayB it would be better in having guns....i mean the only longranged weapon you had in fable ws the bows and now you have gun....i could imagine my guy using an olskool sniper...that would be cool....HEADSHOT...HEADSHOT..HEADSHOT!!!!!!!
but if they left fable the way it was then it would be more pleasing....

Imagine a hunter with a musket loaded with silver bullets, stalking a balverine, and it doesn't seem so bad...

That's a really cool idea, Greg. :) Also to add to that idea of yours is using different types of bullets like armour piercing, fire, lightning, ice, all sorts of bullets for any given enemy. Now that will be really cool.

You then slow the game down with that. Because you have to pause, select your ammo, then get back to the game, I managed to go through Fable with little weapon switching. That and additional ammo slots would create more screens for gameplay... Bad Idea.

Or they could make it so you can switch ammo or weapons by pressing a button without having to go into your inventory, like they do in the GTA games or to a lesser degree in Kotor 2 (where you can set up two weapons and just click an icon to switch between the two)

Guns would be cool, but they MUST be old style barrel guns and rifles. I didn't like the Bows too much in Fable, not my style. I mean, how do you take off a guys head with an arrow? I would love to see an enemy coming at me, and BAM! Headshot. They better have silver bullets for hunting Balverines(assuming they have Balverines, they better have Blverines :D )

Good point there, Demortis. The game pace will slow down considerably and add to that problem is more menus just to select your type of bullets.

I think I might have an idea. What about mapping keys to the different types of ammo when you switch to the gun such as number keys for the different type of bullets or using two keys to cycle among the different bullets in your inventory?

Well, of course the guns have to be the old-fashioned ones since the Fable 2 trailer showed a character armed with that type of gun. And about arrows blowing off someone's head, yeah, I have to agree. Why didn't they make it like the head still stays on the body except that the arrow will remain stuck on his head?

Agreed. In fact, guns should have some range limit as well. I can't imagine shooting someone's head off at a distance of 10km for example.
