My reputation would be completely ruined for saying this, but here it goes:
Every once in a while, when I'm feeling really lonely, I turn my computer on, wait for windows to finish loading, and launch a browser. From then on my fingers run through the keyboard in a manner that is both silent and determined - I slide each finger from key to key in a motion I have practiced hundreds of times. My smile reflects in the bright screen and all that can be heard is the clicking of my keyboard along with whatever music I have meticulously chosen for the occasion.
What I do then is point my browser to SYM, and click on the first spam thread I see; when I'm so close to my treasured prize, there is simply no time to pick and choose. And this is where the fun begins; like a junkie who's finally gotten his fix, my hands are shaking with glee as I turn the scroll-wheel and read the first page in its entirety. It takes me seconds. The initial post sets the mood and then it's all down-hill from there. I absorb the thread from start to finish, like some giant blob devouring New York City in some shoddy B-movie. I love it. Every greeting, every complaint about the weather, every joke I don't find funny. I just eat it straight up until I can't take anymore; until I'm positive my consciousness will go supernova if I read another post.
Then, I put on my shirt and go out for a beer as if nothing has happened. My friends don't know about what I do. My family doesn't either. I need help :(

edit:
@darzog, the thread title says spam-lite so I feel it's my obligation to compensate for the fact that everyone is taking this so seriously.
Joking aside though, if Dj_venom or a SYM mod tell me knock it off, I'll do so immediately :)
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

He was not IP banned and would be able to view everything on these forums as long as he's not logged in. Given the nature of his post and how much information sharing is going on, I'm sure he knows exactly why he was banned.

Ravager wrote:Xan, he didn't receive a single warning about being banned for it, he reposted something that mysteriously vanished a couple of times, that's all. Didn't he deserve some kind of comment, some kind of warning to stop what he was doing that was wrong BEFORE he was banned?
Do you really think that I wanted to ban him? I hate to lose an upstanding member like Lestat, but his post warranted much more than a warning. It's an absolute shame that he decided to pursue the route that he did.

Ravager wrote:Well, if I'm not supposed to know why I was demoted, why was I a mod in the first place? I was helping the GB community and I committed no mistakes in the moderating duties I had, yet I receive no reason, yes that may be between me and Buck, but since he refuses to discuss it, I have no other option bar to discuss it here.
I grow tired of this nonsense. Both you and Luis know exactly why you were demoted, whether you'd like to admit it or not. The problem is that the reasons behind the demotions cannot be discussed publically and you know that. I offer no apologies for removing your moderator tag. If any other moderator was responsible for the same antics, they would be demoted as well.

This thread is getting closed. Everyone's opinion is well known and there is no reason to continue letting the forums degenerate with the bickering that is going on here. If we find that the policy isn't providing the benefits that we had hoped, it can always be removed. But for now, I'd at least like to give it a test run.
