Oldblivion

Post by mr_sir »

I've heard a few people mention an application called Oldblivion that allows lower spec machines to play Oblivion. I googled and found their site but the link for the latest version doesn't seem to be active. Does anyone know any sites where this is available for download? Also, is it a free application or something that I will need to purchase?

Hmm - I remember seeing it in a magazine, but I don't think I have it anymore, but will try to look around for it to see if I can find it.

Oh, and I strongly doubt it would be anything but free download, as I don't think Bethesda wants people to earn money of their game by making mods to it. :)

Thanks. I thought it would be free but I decided to ask anyway as I don't want to have to start buying extra things just so I can play Oblivion - from what I've heard its not good enough to start doing things like that.

That is a matter of opinion and expectations, and says more about the competition then the game itself (imo) ;)

@mr_sir: did you try the download and did it work for you?

Oldblivion is indeed a free shareware download. The official site has had it as that before and I doubt they'd change that.

That one labeled above for download, I'm using it currently and have had very FEW problems. that doesn't mean it won't cause more on your PC or less, and it doesn't guarentee anything, but it's just what I've seen the version do and it might do that for you.

It should work, but no guarentee's.

There was one download that had no link on the site but then a load of testing downloads. This is what confused me as I couldn;t work out which I was supposed to use. I'll try the version Siberys has suggested and see if it works :)

Edit: Oblivion still doesn't work even when using Oldblivion. I guess I'll need to upgrade my PC to play it. Oh well, it was worth a try :)
