Which is best - Jade Empire,Fable or KOTOR
ok i've got all 3 of the games i mentioned Jade Empire,Fable and Knights of the old republic. To me they are the best RPG games ever made on xbox. However they all have their strengths and weaknesses.
Jade Empire and Fable probaly have the best scenery - perhaps KOTOR has the worst as it's a bit samey. Jade Empire has the best i think - like the 2 rivers peach trees and the marsh - they realy have good effects.
Fable is just addictive as you can do it over and over again being good or evil, different armor, will ,melee or skill.
Fable has a unique combat system where you just kill wildely shooting everything, in KOTOR there is a different combat system where you choose your enemies and utilize an attack on them and in Jade Empire it's a mix between the 2,choose your opponent then use a certian attack however you don't just let him attack you have to press controls to initiate the attack.
They all have many attributes and i like them all what do all you guys think of them and which do you think of them?
Mephisto

I lean towards fable, but KOToR is also good. Jade empire is my least favorite of the three, but they are the best 3 rpg's on origiopnal xbox. I like them all a lot.

Both Fable and KOTOR are good games, in my opinion. As for Jade Empire, since its not yet released for the PC, I can't comment here. By the way, is this the correct thread to discuss these games?
P.S. We both posted at the same time? Wow, you beat me to it, Triline beta.

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Personaly these are 3 of my favorite games and it would be hard to choose one as the best. But I think Fable and Jade empires fighting system is way better then Kotors, But then Kotors story line, in my opinon, is signifigently (sp?) better than the other 2.
Add l Skinflute l (Lower case L's) if you think you can beat me 1v1 snipers in Halo 2.

Only played KoToR, so it has to be that. A good game I think.
Good action and focus on NPC interaction aswell.
Will probably get Jade Empire when it comes for PC.
About Fable, I was probably a bit away when it came out, and I first heard about it a bit later, the same time all the negative critics and broken promises and stuff filled most of the headlines about that game.
So I didn't want to buy it.

Playing on a PC and only PC - I've tried Fable:TLC and KOTOR(1+2) and I'll say that KOTOR(1+2) are very much better then Fable in my view, except perhaps graphicwise. (I prefere KOTOR2 over 1 as opposed to many others)
The KOTOR's have better stories, better gameplay, more options and overall better RPGs. Plus you can have a party.
Fable just seem tame to me in comparison.
However,I can't speak for Jade Empirer.

I've never played Jade Empire but out of the other two I will also have to go with the KOTOR games. Fable was fun to play but had no depth to it, was ridiculously short and, although I did really enjoy playing it, was nothing particularly special. On the other hand, the KOTOR series had interesting plots, nice quests, interesting character development (i.e. choosing feats and powers etc.) and lasted about 4 times as long as Fable so was much better value for money.

KOTOR is awesome. i was very impressed with the plot and the twist totally surprised me. it takes a little time to get used to the game play, but you can get hooked easily. you can do all or some of the missions.
FABLE was good, i like the mechanics and the story was decent. if you plan on getting this on, be sure to get The Lost Chapters version-otherwise the game is soooo short. you really have to do all of the missions or you miss getting stuff.
I never finished JADE EMPIRE, so that should tell you how i feel.

I found Fable painfully over-rated, not a bad game as such, just overhyped.
I love both Jade Empire and KoTOR as the number one feature in any RPG for my is story; followed by atmosphere, both games have these in spades.
I'd have to say KoTOR is the better game it's more fun, the characters are better and the world is slightly more free form, without breaking the storyline.
Jade Empire had a slightly more indepth 'feel' to it for me; it makes you want to think about what you're doing. Some games force you to, others allow you to charge through it; but Jade Empire gave how you acted meaning. Maybe it went a little too heavy on the philosophy for some, but I loved it because of that.
If anyone asked for recommendation I'd say KoTOR, but Jade Empire will mean more to me overall.

Played Fable on Xbox, fun entertainment for a while, too short.
Played KOTOR I on PC, really like it, KOTOR II, on Xbox, seemed a little lacking for my taste, cannot say why, may have been the mood I was in at the time.:mischief:
as for Jade Empire, only watched it, while my roommates played, they had fun, but I am waiting for the PC version also.

Those three in my opinion aren't really comparable. They're three completely different style RPG's.
Jade Empire- Oriental Fantasy RPG.
Fable- Typical Fantasy.
KoTOR- Science Fiction.
Those are different enough that it can get so opinionated and subjective that it's "I like KoTOR better because it's science fiction."
If you were to compare say Fable, Morrowind, and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, that would be more on the same lines of the same.
Also, as I have never fully played through any of the chosen for this thread, I have no opinions on which is the best. But I will say that Fable would more than likely be the worst because out of Kotor and fable, KoTOR just got formatted on my PC and I never bothered reinstalling it and Fable I voluntarily quit because I thought it was a crappy game from the beginning.

Totally agree, that's why it is so hard to be objective when comparing games.
Each has elements that are both good and bad.

Um. You mean they have no plans to release the PC version that's being released a few weeks from now?Cyro wrote:Hate to dissapoint you, but you may be waiting a looooooong time. Bioware have no plans to release a PC version.
As most people here, I haven't played Jade Empire yet. Out of the remaining two, KoTOR definitely takes the lead. Fable was just plain wrong. The mechanics were just awful. Paraphrasing the great Griffin: "I was very aware that I was playing a game."
Kotor was great though.
