Ultimate Heist problem

Post by out_peeves »

I have got all the way to the Library but cannot sit on the readers chair. Has anyone any ideas on what I have done wrong? The priests are ignoring me so I don't think I have been spotted. I entered the library by pulling the lever near the sitting priest.

I have reloaded the game lots of times from just after firing the arrow of extraction but I can never sit down on the chair.

If this is a bug I am stuck with is there a way to create the scroll in order to complete the quest?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

There is already a thread about this problem.

Not much in it, but it may be useful.

Thanks for finding these suggestions. Unfortunately they do not help. I am playing the game on a PC if anyone else has any ideas. Even a cheat to get round this would be good as I am fed up with reloading the game.

If you are on PC, is the space bar not working to make your char sit? I never had that problem anywhere in the game.

This is the only place in the game where the spacebar does not make my character sit. I assume I must have done something wrong and the game thinks it is the wrong time to sit down. Am I supposed to wait for any background conversations by the monks?

No. A couple of the monks might greet you by the name of the person they think you are, but it isn't important.
You just go to the chair by the table close to the spiral stairs, activate and sit. Then the monks bring the scroll. You don't say a word, and the monk just puts the roll on the talbe, speaks, and goes away. You take the scroll, get up, and exit - but not the way you came in!

I don't understand what is wrong with your game. Unless you are trying to sit in the wrong place? But I never noticed another chair and table.

Hm. You are out of sneak mode, yes? Not sure if it will make a difference, but it might.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I suppose I just have a bug and will probably have to go back to a saved game before this quest and miss it out.

Seems like the only way. You have already tried going back to before you entered the room, iirc, without any luck. But it's a pain to go back to the beginning of the quest. :(
