Trouble with Character

I'm having trouble in Neverwinter Nights, I'm trying to get in to Luskan but no matter how many times I try, it keeps telling me that my character login is invalid and I have to choose a different character (or my own at level 1!!!) if I want to continue playing.

Anyone any ideas as to what's going on?

(P.S. I played the game part the way through way back when and had no trouble getting into Luskan then...now...not a clue what's wrong)

Is your game (fully) patche by the way, as I seem to recall that was a problem which were fixed in some patch long ago?

Thanks for the link Xandax, I was able to fix the problem through the files, wonder why the problem doesn't always occur though? (Haven't downloaded any pathces btw, then or now)
