WARNING: MINOR SPOILERS UNAVOIDABLE
I am currently on my 500th play-through, and the problem I have is like nothing I have experienced before, and threatens to kill off my game after 28 days or so.
Game is heavily modded with the usual kind of balanced stuff, nothing fancy. The only new mod for this play-through is called 'G3 Tweaks', all the others are tried and tested and have never caused problems before.
Party has just left the Underdark and spoken with Elhan, and we set off north through the Drizzt encounter. From there we are free to go to all the usual map locations - Usually I head straight for the city gates at this point.
This time I noticed that of the three added map locations (Small Teeth Pass, North Forest, Forest of Tethyr) only one was available; Small Teeth Pass. The other two were drawn, but greyed out. I figured they would be available once I travel thru Small Teeth Pass.
HOWEVER when I hit the pointer to travel to Small Teeth Pass, the game reports 'Loading Area' but then crashes to desktop, and I have no choice but to close BGMain.exe from Windows Task Manager.
My first thought was that the G3 Tweaks mod contains an element which is meant to rectify the travel times on the world map. I immediately uninstalled this element hoping that would cure the problem, but it hasnt worked.
ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED TO SAVE MY GAME AND THE TIME I HAVE INVESTED.
Ideas: there is a CLUA command to travel to areas, this might help if i could find it - I could try to hyperspace to the missing areas.
I thought about reinstalling afresh, and using one of many game-saves, but I noticed they are not stored in a folder, and I might have problems transferring my gamesaves to a fresh install - any advice on this?
Maybe it doesnt matter? Once i have the lanthorn i think i go to elhan, who then teleports group right outside of Suldanessellar... but I cant quite remember. Has anyone got experience of this? I certainly dont want to invest more hours playing only to find that if/when he teleports us the game just crashes again.
