IceWind Dale 2 Help, I'm Desperate!!!
Alright so I used to have a copy of IWD2 which aparently got scratched. So when I first got my new computer I tried to install it just to see if it would work. It didn't. It would have some error, but the game would be in my Add/Remove program list and when I tried to remove it I couldn't I'm guessing since it wasn't fully installed. Well I recently bought a new copy free or scrathces. So when I go to try and install in any way shape or form, it gives me a "Setup Was unable to read the necissary registry entries." Error saying it must abort and then gives me a web site and phone number for tech support. The numbers are shut off, and the web site gives a few tip which I followed on all of them and its still not working I still recieve the error. I really don't want to reformat my computer for this game but I will if thats what it takes. Any tips or advice would be great!!

Copy the entire CD to your hard drive if you can, go through all that add and remove programs stuff.
I had this same problem with a scratched CD which is why I don't play Icewinddale 2 anymore. If you can figure a way to get it on your computer and install from there, then you should be good on that area.
hmm, if you can find a demo version or trial version of some Iso Maker, then you could easily use that. Be warned on that, many iso makers don't allow past 500 megabytes on a trial. MagicISO being one of them, only allows 300 megabytes in the unregistered version.

I tired copying it to the actual computer from the cd and it didnt work but maybe i copied it to the wrong place. What did you mean about the ISO? I don't know exactly what you're saying sorry I'm not too technical when it comes to programming and computers, just gaming.. Thanks for the reply and more help would definately be awsome!
ISO:
An informal term for a disk image of an ISO 9660 file system - it refers to any optical disk image (CD/DVD). An ISO contains all information on a disc (data, boot code, structures, and attributes) in a single file.
- Wikipedia
In simple terms (ignoring the mechanics)...
An ISO can be seen as a "see-all" container, e.g. a book shelf - where the disc files are books that are already on the shelf. Exploring your disc (My Computer) for a particular file would be the same as looking along the shelf for the book you want.
Hope this is as un-technical as you require!
