Watcher's keep strategy help- possible spoiler?

Post by JamesDean »

I'm have fought my way through to the third level and have battled past the first group of demons, kinda hard but made it through, the second set is proving a little tougher. Any suggestions on strategy?

Well for one, give them the heart of their opposing demons and get the experience for doing so (there may be an alignment repercussions). I remember after doing so the demons just let me pass.

Any way if you want to kill them it's possible to just prepare before attacking them with traps, protection spells, summons or anything else you have.
The major thing is probably have some summons up and running if you have them, I found nymphs surprisingly useful.

Also try and take out the melee demons at the front first more than anything, they're the more difficult ones, the commanding demon at the back of the area seems to take a while before responding so it's possible to knock off one or two demons before worrying about them.

Assuming that you are referring to one of the groups that want the heart of the others' leader, they are pretty standard fights, again assuming you're playing with a full party. Make sure you have mind shields up to protect against charm. If you can't be totally protected, jump on the succubi immediately. Fighters should be given improved haste if possible and liberally use their HLAs. Critical Strike is particularly useful here since demons don't wear helmets. Have sequenced/chain contingencied remove magic ready to use on the leaders or use wands of spell striking. Also, I've found energy blades very useful on them, since they offer great range and are fast enough to disrupt their attempted spell casting. With that, a reasonably high level party should then be able to deliver a pretty swift beat down.
