Well, I've never seen a thread like this, and I've gone a fair way back into the database, so you're probably safe.FredrikNo1 wrote:noticed that alot of ppl have completed this great game more than once. so i got curious, how many times have u beaten bloodlines?

1 Brujah, 1 Gangrel, 1 Toreador, 1 Ventrue, 1 Nosferatu.
66 Tremere.
14 Mixed (cheat-coded discipline combinations that aren't typical or are unavailable, thus rendering a clan classification impossible, except perhaps by PNP rules, which I know little of.).
Guess who I like best

I havent completed it yet, however i have started it with Ventrue and Malkavian and i find Malkavian more fun, so im guessing i will complete it first with them! Then i will finish my Ventrue character.
I've completed it twice as a Tremere, once as a Malk, once as a Gangrel, and done the majority of it as a Ventrue a couple of times, the majority as a Tremere a couple of times and the majority of it as Gangrel a few times - I prefer the beginning to the end lol so quite often I abandon my character after Chinatown

When you say you're playing two different characters at the same time, how do you do it? Are you copying the SAVE folder and switching them back and forth, or is there a way to do it through the game? If the former, then I know how to do that. If the latter, I thought that was impossible. Enlighten me, por favor.haydox wrote:Ooh....ooh, i know, i know....its Gangrel isnt it?!

The way i do it, although i am ashamed to admit it, is to learn how to make batch files, so i have 4 batch files, MalkIn, MalkOut, VentrueIn, VentrueOut, the out ones simply copy the files to 1 of 2 folders (Malk or Ventrue), and the in ones copy files from 1 of 2 folders (Malk or Ventrue again) into the save one. Although for some reason they have disappeared, Looks like ill be figuring out how to make them again!Jhereg wrote:When you say you're playing two different characters at the same time, how do you do it? When i have it figured (again...*sigh*) i will send/try to send you info on how to do it!
The one disadvantage to this is that you could forget which save you were using last!

Got It!
Ok, i have it figured again, fairly simple really.
The MalkOut file contains this line:
move G:\Vampir~1\Vampire\SAVE G:\Vampir~1\Vampire\Backups\Malk
which moves the entire SAVE folder from the Vampire folder, into the Backups\Malk folder.
The MalkIn file contains:
move G:\Vampir~1\Vampire\Backups\Malk\SAVE G:\Vampir~1\Vampire\
which moves the entire SAVE folder from the Backups\Malk folder, back into the Vampire folder, where they can be used again!
The Ventrue varients simply move the files to and from the Backups\Ventrue folder instead of the Malk one (duh!).

There is nothing shameful about knowing how to make batch files. They're like motorcycles - they get you out of more trouble than they get you into, if you use them right. But, effectively, you're copying the save folder back and forth. Cool enough. Thanks. I thought I might be missing something.haydox wrote:The way i do it, although i am ashamed to admit it, is to learn how to make batch files, so i have 4 batch files, MalkIn, MalkOut, VentrueIn, VentrueOut, the out ones simply copy the files to 1 of 2 folders (Malk or Ventrue), and the in ones copy files from 1 of 2 folders (Malk or Ventrue again) into the save one. Using the examples from my previous post you could just change the directories and you have a working set of batch files.Jhereg wrote:There is nothing shameful about knowing how to make batch files. Not so, not so. A game a week for over a year and a half and you're there. With the odd two-games-in-a-long-weekend pig-out, and the week-off-with- five-games orgy of violence to kind of round things out.Theoris wrote:im pathetic....

WOW...Amazing!
Wow,you guys have played a lot. *takes metaphorical hat off*
Vampite The Masquerade Bloodlines is a good game, but the dedication all of you give it...is simply amazing.
I love Tremere vampires so, I've played
1 X as a Toreador
3 X as a Tremere
1 X as a Venture
I know, shame on me for not being a faithfull player, but lately I've been playing Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom II Hearts games.
*blushes*
I've been reduced to kiddiy games...! but they're good.
Dirge of Cerberus proves to be a good game too.
Vincent Valentine is so cool!

Eh...not to worry again. I have friends that have never played and are similarly addicted to that big-box one..."Warcraft" I think. Me? Never touch the stuff. To each his or her own. My cousin never plays anything more than once (and some she never finishes - can you spell ADD?). A waste of a perfectly good $60 to me, but heck, it's her time and her dime. I'll still drag out DXIW once in awhile - just as a change of pace. You do what you do.Katan_01_mirage wrote: I know, shame on me for not being a faithfull player, but lately I've been playing Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom II Hearts games.

Well, I took a break from this game because I encountered a bug that wouldn't let me enter the Ventrue Tower in Downtown, so I was stuck trying to report to Lacroix about the warehouse. Sadly, I was never able to recover from the bug, so after trying to play for about 5-7 times (as a tremere no less) I decided to take a break.
So over the summer......

I saw the KH Signature series for PS2, so I bought it (because my KH crazed friends said it was good) I played it, I liked it and even bought KHII just for the fun of it (plus it has characters from the Final Fantasy series. Heck, I even bought Final Fantasy VII Advent Children movie and the continuing Dirge of Cerberus game). *Somebody get me off the KH and Final Fantasy fandom! For which I blame my gamer friends.*
I have (of late) looked at the Bloodlines's game and have the urge to play it again, but I have to finish jimminy's journal in KHII......and hope my Bloodlines European Version of the game doesn't clash with my American computer.

O.K. now that I have stepped out of my soap box.........
I salute all of the faithfull Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines gamers, your dedication is always very astounding.
